Shopping Center Ratina — Attraction in Tampere sub-region

About 150 stores, boutiques, cafés and restaurants on 3 or 4 floors right there in the (almost) center of Tampere, alongside the older and smaller but renovated Koskikeskus mall, which adds a few dozen businesses to the mix. Nice access to both of them by car (there's an underground parking separately for both malls, but you can easily cross the street between them) and also with public transportation. Ratina is right there being borderline too big for comfort (hence the 4 stars from me) and unless you are just trying out the next café or restaurant you haven't visited yet, you probably go there knowing already, which place to visit and what to buy. The main lobby on the first floor and the smaller ones on other floors turn to public indoor squares and places to hang out and chill for lots of people (and their dogs, looks like; don't get me wrong, I love dogs, I'm just not accustomed to seeing them in indoors public spaces in such numbers). There have been shows and concerts in the main lobby and hopefully we'll see those again in the future. It's the citizens' living room,...

At the time of writing this review the MAP SYSTEM isn't working. The info-displays stand black and void, and the homepages only LIST the available shops & services, but after clicking the desired business, you see... ...The name of the business, and nothing more. No open hours or more detailed location. Unforgivable in this day and age.

Other than that a nice shopping centre, tidy and clean. And has a spacious feeling about it, more so than the neighbouring (older)...

Todella monipuolinen kauppakeskus aivan Tampereen keskellä, helposti lähestyttävissä monesta suunnasta niin jalan kuin autolla, miksei myös pyörällä. Paljon parkkitilaa, toisinsanoen siis massiivinen parkkihalli. Hallissa suht hyvät järjestelyt nykyaikaisissa puitteissa, ja ulosajo helppoa. Liikenneympyröiden ansiosta eri suuntiin suunnistaminen on tehty mahdollisimman vaivattomaksi. Liikkeitä on vaikka muille jakaa, todella paljon muotia, mutta myös kaikkea muuta, kuten sisustusta, teknologiaa ja päivittäisruokakauppoja. Myös monipuoliset ja erittäin hyvät ruokailumahdollisuudet, jotka tarjoavat varmasti jokaiselle jotain. Liikkeistä mainittakoon mm. Burger King, H&M, Teknik Makasinet, Lidl... Monta kerrosta, kierrettävää riittää aivan varmasti koko päiväksi. Yläkerroksista hienot näköalat alas ihmispaljouteen. Ihmisten viihtyvyyteen on kiinnitetty huomiota muun muassa penkeillä, joita löytyy ympäri "puljua". Jalat varmasti muussaantuvatkin perusteellisen kierroksen aikana. Keskellä kauppakeskuksen maatasaa suuri "tori", joka tuo perinteisen kauppapaikan tuntua. Ulkoa löydät myös mukavanlaisen terassin, jossa viettää aurinkoista päivää vaikka jäätelön merkeissä. Miinuspuolina sanottakoon sen verran, että tänne jos minne voi tosiaan eksyä, eli pitäkää lapsiinne ja aikuisiinne ;) katsekontakti koko ajan. Myöskään suuria paikkoja ja ihmismassoja pelkäävien ei kannata tänne suunnistaa, ennen kuin on sinut...
