Regret booking this. The experience was disappointing from start to finish. They have two locations(with the exact same names) and we accidentally arrived at the wrong one. Instead of handling the situation with some flexibility, the staff immediately blamed us and told us to ‘check our tickets.’ The two locations are only a six-minute drive apart, so we wouldn’t have been significantly late if they had simply let us join the tour. We actually booked our uber on the spot to make our way there asap but they told us to cancel that. When we asked if we could join any of the later tours, we were told it was fully booked – though honestly, would two extra people have made such a difference?
This lack of hospitality set the tone.
Reluctantly, they offered us a tasting at the location we had come to, despite the fact we had paid €90 for a tour. What we got were four of the tiniest pours we experienced anywhere in Champagne, and worse, the wines were flat and stale (as you can see in the video). It was especially noticeable that many bottles were left uncorked on the counters without stoppers, which likely explained the poor quality of what we were served.
To top it off, the waiter who served us made a point of repeating that the ‘correct address was on the tickets.’ The service throughout was curt, unkind, and at times just plain rude.
Overall, this was the lowest point of our trip. With so many warm, authentic, and generous champagne houses in the region, I would strongly recommend...
Read moreExcellent experience, both in the "avenue the champagne" boutique and during the tour. Very friendly, enthousiastic and knowledgeable staff, that are more than eager to share their passion for champagne. They are a smaller, unique and pioneering champagne house, and like to experiment with the brewing process. This results in excellent champagnes. As far as we have tasted, they do not have any "bad" or even mediocre champagnes. Everything was excellent. We especially liked the "blanc de meunier" and the "Abyss", ranking it amongst our most favourite champagnes. The facility tour shows all the aspects of their brewing process, not only the "instagrammable" parts, which we really enjoyed. During the tasting we were happily surprised with our hostess, who kindly offered us some of the unique champagnes she really enjoys.
Only problem is that after the tasting I can now never enjoy another "ordinary" bottle of Moet or Veuve Clicquot, after we've experienced how extraordinary Leclerc Briant's champagnes are. A good problem to have in...
Read moreI visited Champagne Leclerc Briant this past December, and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. The entire experience was exceptional, and a big part of that was thanks to Antonella, our guide. She was incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and passionate, and she really made the visit unforgettable.
She explained everything in such an engaging and approachable way- from the biodynamic methods they use to the history of the house and the winemaking process. I learned so much, and it made me appreciate the Champagne even more.
The tasting itself was a highlight. Each glass had its own character, and you could really taste the care and philosophy behind the wines. The atmosphere was relaxed yet elegant, and I left feeling inspired and grateful for the experience.
If you're anywhere near Champagne, make sure to stop by. It’s truly...
