Chateau Chambord is one of the big sights. A really impressive place with huge gardens and parks you can spend hours in.
So there are several parking lots around. For regular visitors, this is the closest and most convenient one. We came on the French National Holiday and there was a small line of cars, but still enough parking on this lot. Only needed to make one or two rounds.
The spots are marked and hold SUVs without problems. Most provide no shade. From here it's a short walk through the shops and restaurant area to the castle. Parking costs a fair 5 Euros. Fixed rate. Pay right after you park and you will have no waiting lines when you leave.
