Museum of Art and History of Orange — Attraction in Carpentras

The Museum of Art and History of Orange has some really gorgeous pieces — coins, structures, statuettes — but my visit was a bit disappointing. The front says no photos, which is unusual for a museum, so I couldn’t capture the beautiful works. Awesome museum! I was a bit rushed so missed some things, but you could spend hours here, it’s way bigger than I thought. They have lots of beautiful painting for well-known artists but also lesser known artists. There’s a whole section for the impressionists at the top which was amazing to see. Book tickets in advance! The roman part and the part on the Oranje-Nassau family is interesting. The rest not so much in my opinion. Top floor is about artist who donated their painting to the museum. But this does not add a lot to the history of Orange, which the museum is about. I would recommend to visit the theatre instead...
