Faure Museum — Attraction in Chambéry

Nice museum with 3 floors, the first more about history, the second on Impressionism, and the highest floor on Rodin, sculptures, and ceramics. The place contains quite a lot of art despite being relatively small, and you can probably spend over an hour inside. The staff at the counter will store your bags for free before you enter. The Impressionist painters featured are not your typical big names (except for a few Pissarros and one Cezanne), but are quite interesting nevertheless. Note that the explanations on the first floor are only in French, and for the other 2 floors, there are no explanations beside each piece, only 1 general one (in both French and English) for the whole floor. Один из самых приятных музеев, в которых мне приходилось бывать. Размер его компактный, - скорее маленький, чем большой. Но это удобно для туристов. Если прийти к 10 утра (к открытию), то как раз к 12.30 (к закрытию музея на обед) можно успеть ознакомиться со всеми тремя этажами экспозиции. 4 раза в год на первом этаже проходят временные выставки, а уж два верних этажа навсегда отданы постоянной экспозиции музея, которая в полной мере заслуживает внимания любителей искусства. Второй этаж отображает реальное развитие художественного искусства с 1850 до 1900 от романтизма до импрессионизма и постимпрессионизма к символизму. Monticelli, Corot, Troyon, Lepine, Sargent, Cezanne, Boudin, Jongkind, Pissaro, Bonnard, Degas. С первых ступеней деревянной лестницы понимаешь сразу ценность и необычную роскошь музейной коллекции для такого маленького курортного городка, как Экс-Ле-Бен. Сердце наполняется благодарностью Доктору Жану Фору, который собрал её и завещал городу. Не могу не упомянуть третий этаж музея, где расположились 34 скульптуры Огюста Родена - одного, да пожалуй, и самого известного из основоположников импрессионизма в скульптуре. Персонал музея доброжелателен и отзывчив. Имеется гардероб, сумки, кстати придётся сдать при входе. Аудиогид бесплатный для зала Родена ( правда, на французском). Есть обзорная бесплатная брошюра на русском языке. Туалетные комнаты просторные чистые светлые. Musée avec une collection très riche grâces au leg du docteur Faure, docteur en pharmacie, que n'ayant pas de femme ni d'enfants, offre, à la fin de sa vie (1942) sa collection privée d'œuvres d'art à la ville d'Aix-les-Bains, à la fin qu'elles soient exposées au public. Ce musée ouvre en 1949 à l'intérieur de la magnifique villa des Chimères de style génois, très italienne! Il s'ouvre sur 2 niveaux plus le rdc. Au rdc 2 salles sont aménagées pour la réception d'expositions temporaires mais il y a aussi une collection permanente éclectique où on trouve des œuvres qui vont du XVIIe au XXe siècles. Au 1er étage on y trouve les tableaux impressionnistes. Cet étage retrace une bonne période de l'histoire de la peinture depuis le romantisme jusqu'au symbolisme. Au 2ème étage y sont exposées les sculptures de Rodin. Celle-ci est la deuxième collection publique de sculptures de Rodin la plus grande après celle du musée Rodin à Paris. On y peut visiter aussi la reconstitution de la chambre d'Alphonse de Lamartine lors de ces séjours à Aix-les-Bains et encore une petite pièce qui expose des céramiques et des faïences diverses.
