Small museum packed to the brim with so much information and so many artifacts! It was a valuable stop to give context before we visited the different prehistoric sites in the region.
The child's brochure has games that take them through the museum to understand how the beads on the necklaces were made. My daughter loved that, but it doesn't touch on the menhirs or other structures omnipresent in the Morbihan.
There is a lot of info and it's hard to take it all in: we would have loved to take a guided tour for context.

Read moreAs someone who loves prehistory this is quite possible the best museum I've ever been to and I've been to 100s they have some truly incredible and beautiful artefacts including some incredible polished stone axeheads, the only downside is all the signs are in the local language however I don't mind this to much as just seeing such beautiful history is enough, they do have a lovely book on the museum in English you can get in the gift shop. I would highly recommend this museum to anyone interested in prehistory, megaliths, neolithic times...

We used our own precious data to translate every board as there is no WiFi(!!) We could have bought an audio guide but we've paid extra for these before only to find they didn't cover everything and are often quite infantile - so we decided not to.
