The Odeon in Lyon at Fourviere rebels the importance of this city in the Roman Empire. Just one other city in the Galia had both a Theatre and a Odeon.

It was built by the end of the 1st century, south, close to the theatre, it had room for about 3 thousand people. Poetry, speech, government meetings, etc were housed here.

How can anyone give Roman remains anything less than 5 stars? What's not to like? Just don't forget to visit the lovely husband and wife who run the refreshments trailer at the bottom of the amphitheatre, where you can pick up a glass of champagne for €7 and meander around the ruins in...
