Despite checking it out on a hot, sunny summer day, visiting Theater de Gallo still manages to impress. We managed to catch the rehearsals for a night festival during our visit, the sound setup was particularly remarkable. The seating arrangement, offering views far into the horizon, added to the theater's grand expanse. A fun fact about Theater de Gallo is that it was originally built as an open-air cinema in the early 20th century, which makes it quite a historic venue. The only downside was the lack of shade during the day, which made it quite warm. Definitely a good stop to rest if going up to visit fourviere on the funicular.

It's great to visit such old moments and imagine life long ago. It would be nice to have more information about what exactly the ruins are, maybe some pictures of recreations. One picture shows a sign that likes like it leads to other signs to discover what they ruins are, but when you go to those numbers places, there is nothing. VIP? Huh? They had things set up for concerts in the evening. That sounds kind of cool, but the modern equipment detracts from the history. Well so far, it was one of the few places in Lyon I've seen without graffiti everywhere. We walked down to a boulangerie, grabbed lunch and ate in the theater, a fun day.

We arrived to the Amphitheatre late on a Sunday afternoon and everything was still open including the Museum. To our surprise there was no entry fee including the Museum. The amphitheatre is well preserved site and perched on top of a the hill over looking Lyon. It was an amazing site with a beautiful view of the city. We enjoyed our time here and the museum was well worth checking out too. Very family friendly, lots of designated areas for kids to paint and draw. It's also a convenient 2min walk from the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière. Both are well worth checking out. Highly recommend!

We were fortunate that our visit to this archaeological site in October 2023 coincided with a special festival of Roman civilization that takes place once every two years. It was an incredible experience that offered us a deep insight into the components of the Roman camp, the organizational structure of life within it, and the diverse range of handicrafts that accompanied these camps to fulfill the needs of soldiers and officers. We witnessed fascinating demonstrations, from blacksmithing to leather tanning to weaving, which showcased the ingenuity and skill of the ancient Romans.

Visiting the Théâtre Gallo Romain de Lyon-Fourvière in Lyon was a nice experience. The site features interesting historical features, and the best part is, it's not crowded at all. It also has relatively good wheelchair accessibility. You are also able to sit on the stairs, and the view for there is admirable A notable feature is the freedom to capture the beauty as photography is allowed everywhere. Additionally, the site hosts events sometimes, but the dates will have to be researched. If you're in Lyon, Théâtre Gallo Romain de Lyon-Fourvière is a must-visit.

10/10 loved it, amazing place, amazing museum. Fully accessible to disabled people as there are no stairs except at the beginning, it's all a gentle ramp to the end and lifts are available to every level. Staff kind and helpful. Lovely collection, everything is well explained both in french and english. Souvenir shop small but offering truly unique trinkets such as handmade copies of a sesterce from Nero's reign they have in their collection, and aromatised wines following roman recipes from ancient authors like Pliny the Elder and Apicius.
