Genuinely met one of the friendliest customer service people on the front desk when my wife and I visited the other day. I really wish I'd got his name, so he could take full credit for making my wife and I feel so at home in Nantes.
You know, when people ask "how was such and such a city?" or "what was that place like?" you are often searching for specific things to sum up your experience. So, yes, yes, the Art Museum is excellent, the collection is great, it feels very nice to walk around in and take your time over the art.... however when people ask, "how was Nantes?" I'm going to tell them that the people were so welcoming and friendly and that we had a genuinely great time... that it's a nicer city than so many others I've had the privilege of visiting (brag) and it's honestly down to really helpful, genuine, friendly people who do their job excellently well and are really human when they speak to you - just like the dude on the front desk. So, well done Arts Museum of Nantes - you are representing your city well.

We couldn't buy anything to eat at all when we arrived at around 1.30pm. Apparently you have to book a table 🤪😂. I think the museum managers could do with visiting any large museum in london ... where you can eat snacks sandwiches, larger meals etc all day. The lack of seating and food meant we had to leave the Museum and walk a considerable distance to find an open restaurant ... I'm still at a loss as to why the french shut most of their restaurants from 2-7pm... especially during the peak tourist season they must lose thousands annually. London restaurants on the whole are open all day... makes total...
