Le Lieu Unique — Attraction in Nantes

One of my worst restaurant experiences. The staff is particularly rude. I took the day menu that supposed to be quicker. I ended up waiting 30 minutes for the second course to arrive. We had to ask and it was obvious they forgot about our order. My partner ordered a vegetarian plate and they brought a pork dish instead. Then they changed it and It was just a bunch of boiled frozen vegetables in a tin tomato sauce.

My menu was a bland brownish salad with feta and tin tuna. Then the main course supposed to be pork with linguini in a basil sauce. The horror !!! The dish was a bunch of unsalted and unseasoned pasta, watery and bland as hell in a disgusting “brown sauce” that supposed to be basil based. The meat was just two small pieces of cold grill pork. Absolutely horrendous. I think in hospital or in prison you can get better quality of food. So sad that they don’t even put the minimum effort to cook with a little of dignity and respect...

The more time we spent here, the more we liked it. We expected more - something really cool to see or do. Instead, this space is given over primarily to a restaurant, a cafe, a bookstore and a hammam (public bath house). There is an exhibition space upstairs. Costs vary depending on the exhibit.

The cafe has outdoor seating on beach chairs around low tables. There are multiple shade trees here and the tables overlook the river. Prices are very reasonable.

The hammam claims to be the largest in France but we did not verify that claim.

We’re here now - the idea was to have a quick drink and go. The table was dirty and remained dirty while the waiter took the order and left. He’s just come back with the drinks and asked to be paid before wiping the table, despite our requests to please do it the other way around. Once we paid and the drinks arrived we had to wait with our glasses in our hands while he vigorously (and poorly) wiped the tables with one hand, still holding the tray with the other hand.
