plage — Attraction in Nantes

Had a really bad experience here today, if you're a lone female please be wary of going to the sandy area below the steps unless there are plenty of people around. When sunbathing here this morning, there were a couple of other females there with dogs when a man came to the top of the steps and stood staring at me for a while before leaving. After the the other females had left and there was nobody else around he returned. He said Bonjour which I ignored but he didn't take the hint and persisted so I told him to leave me alone (in French), he continued harassing me so I picked up my things and moved to the area with chairs, which is more visible. This individual then had the audacity to tell me "ce n'est pas grave"- actually I think it is when you're behaving in a predatory way towards lone females. I felt really unsafe and in the sandy area that I was in, he could have quite easily assaulted me and nobody would have been...
