Very interesting place, a short climb up the hill. Say hi at the accueil/welcome desk, ask for tour time, wait 5 to 30mins for the gratis tour (yes, you heard right, gratis), french or english, then in the cave you go. It's basically a ~20min movie projected onto the cave walls with narration and music. A dark, damp, cool cave, max 30m in, level, steel stairs, rails, like a scaffold, nothing scary at all. The sound-and-lights are done very well, images of people and animals projected on the stone (cave men eating something, explorers climbing in and finding the cave, wolves). Information too, if you listen closely which is hard, it's very distracting in there. Great little visit if you have time, perhaps walking back from the gorgeous sea, down the hill from the coastal walk. Minibus 98 stops right there. Tables, chairs for resting, snack maybe. WCs as well.

Huge cave and unexpectedly amazing. The evolution of Neaderthals occurred in this cave. The tour has a French and English version but they are at different times and it's 5 euros but otherwise, the site is actually free. The tour features projections in the cave with the stories of our origins. There's also a simulation before entering the cave that explains the sea level changes and sediment deposits over the ages. The whole area has information on various hominids, flora, and fauna. There's also a little exhibition behind the gift shop. It can be very hot outside but they were kind enough to provide water for people! Also, the gift shop is well stocked with interesting goods and they wrap them up very nicely if it's a gift. Great place. I recommend.

Amazing historical place near the center of Nice, a relaxing walk to it from the last train station of the line 2 & 3. The lady and the man who work there are extremely polite and helpful. And the surprising part is that the entrance was free. The tour is audio guided, it lasts for 30 minutes, and the last presentation starts at 17.30 so be sure to check the working hours so you don't miss the opportunity to see this mastery of nature. And even if you miss it, there is a beautiful beach nearby to take a dip into a very clean, blue sea. I'm not going to reveal too much about the site, it's up to you to put in effort and make a visit!
