Club Nautique de Nice — Restaurant in Nice

I've been there for the Nice Christmas Regatta 58th edition. The plan was to be a Fan that follows friends and champions (the leader is Italian), doing some pictures, you know I'm a sailing photographer and a sailor. It was also a good opportunity to know this "mysterious" place. At the end I've been the official photographer of the event (with 2 shots on newspaper and 1 around the world). The staff is very good and kind. Nearly all speak english and italian (with different level). I would say I found a new family The location it's very nice and old (the club was founded in 1883). The "new" club house - restaurant has one of the best view in town (the best view is at the Observatory on the hill). The kitchen and the service is really good and I would say also cheap for the location (Cesar Salad 14€ ). The restaurant is open to the public. There is a weight room with rowing, dressing rooms are bright, clean and enough. The only missing is an access (ramp) for trailer to download the boat, but the port have big cranes on commercial docks so they can manage any kind of boats (America's Cup and Extreme Saling too). So if you walk on the promenade and you arrive to the port, just pass it, and sto there for a coffee or a tea or for lunch, and continue to walk on the footpath on the cliff in the direction...

Serendipity works! We found this gem of a restaurant thanks to a local lady we met on the bus. We were heading to another restaurant (which was full when we arrived) and the lady mentioned that not-too-obvious-to-tourists restaurant (it is a nautical club) which served good food. It does not announce itself as a restaurant from the street, so you have to get close to the door. We tried it. NO REGRET WHATSOEVER! The staff was quick to accommodate us with a nice table. We had (first time for me) a sliced artichoke salad (delicious) and of course fish - a salmon and an entire fish (that came entire on my plate to be then filleted by the very nice waitress - I knew it was fresh). The whole thing was so good that there was no need for dessert. Great ambiance, great sunset and a beautiful view of the marina of Nice. The secret...

We were really enjoying our experience and happy with this place, we had drinks and got our food after a bit of a wait and some service issues. My friend and I both got a caesar salad but a few bites in I found a small hair…then a few bites later she did as well. We were hesitant to ask about it since we knew their kitchen had closed for lunch but we’re hoping to at least get it comped. When bringing it to our servers attention he was very rude, swiped the food away without ever giving us anything to replace it and I left still hungry. The salad was really good up until that point, drinks were good, and great view/location. We ended up only paying for our drinks but the experience and how we were treated for their mistake was very upsetting.
