I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hôtel Château de La Chèvre d'Or, and it was truly a memorable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the charm and elegance of this magnificent hotel.

First and foremost, the location of the hotel is simply breathtaking. Perched on a hilltop in the charming village of Eze, the Hôtel Château de La Chèvre d'Or offers panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea. The vistas are absolutely stunning, and I found myself mesmerized by the beauty of the surroundings.

The hotel itself is a historic castle that has been beautifully restored and decorated. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, from the luxurious furnishings to the intricate artwork. However, I must mention that the specific room I was assigned to was not as warm and welcoming as I had hoped. It had a cave-like feel, and the bathroom was located up a flight of spiral stairs, which was quite uncomfortable. This aspect of the room was a bit disappointing.

The staff at the Hôtel Château de La Chèvre d'Or deserves special recognition. They were warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with any request. From the moment I checked in to the moment I checked out, I felt like a valued guest. The level of service provided was exceptional, and it truly enhanced my overall experience.

The dining options at the hotel are exceptional. The Michelin-starred restaurant offers a culinary journey that is a feast for the senses. The dishes are beautifully presented, and the flavors are exquisite. I was particularly impressed with the use of local and seasonal ingredients, which added a unique touch to each dish. The dining experience was truly a highlight of my stay.

While my stay at the Hôtel Château de La Chèvre d'Or was exceptional, there were a few minor areas that could be improved. The Wi-Fi signal in some areas of the hotel was not very strong, which made it a bit challenging to stay connected. Additionally, the specific room I was assigned to was not as comfortable as I had hoped, with a cave-like feel and a bathroom located up a flight of spiral stairs.

Despite these minor shortcomings, I would still highly recommend the Hôtel Château de La Chèvre d'Or for a truly luxurious and memorable stay. The breathtaking location, impeccable service, and exceptional dining options make it a top choice for those seeking a truly indulgent experience. With some room improvements, it would be even more exceptional. Overall, my stay was still a delightful and memorable experience, and I would gladly return...

Good things first: Super concierge team, very helpful and engaged. Overall everyone is friendly but some people are not working as you would expect it in a 5 star hotel. Also the spectacular view & general hotel infrastructure are absolutely breathtaking The two star michelin restaurant is probably the best I have ever been too compared to other 2 stars. Also, absolutely super friendly and helpful are the guys at the car parking! Really great team!

Now the negative part which unfortunately exceeds the positive part by far. Infrastructure: Room: Phone doesn’t work properly, Aircon is noisy outside (definitely broken, as I know these machines), and the bath doesn’t properly work. But after complaining 10 times already i just prefer to ignore it and try to enjoy my stay as far as it is possible given the circumstances. The balcony of a 990.- euro per night room has neither space for breakfast nor a sunbed. (Room 41, junior suite). Which brings me to The next point: there are by far not enough sundbeds for all guest, even though there would be more than plenty of space all over the premises. So you come to a five star hotel and only 30-40% have sundbeds, 20-30 can sit in chairs and for the rest there is nothing. Incredible. Spa: the spa is placed basically in the restaurant remparts. I pre booked a massage for 18:30. First of all i booked 90‘ and got 60‘ - which can happen okay. But having to walk through almost full restaurant in a bath robe, especially when there is a wedding and i have to walk behind the bride is simply unqualified Organisation of the hotel in any sense possible! Pool: First day it took 50 minutes to get water (after the first time I called the reception) as there was noone walking around. As mentioned no sundbeds - and this is not due to corona! Main restauran remparts: Good food but not very competent & specially slow service. If i ask for the sommelier and then talk to her about wine, add I need another minute to think taking the new info into consideration, i expect her to come back to me again... but she didn’t. I did rate the restaurant separately for more info.

A little add on: i received a phone call to in the room from sunday to monday night at 00:59 from the reception regarding a lost item, which generally is appreciated but not at this time!

Overall: i very much suggest to go to the michelin star restaurant but for the rest i can only say never again. What a...

Anyone with a balance problem, either physical or financial, would be well advised to avoid the Chèvre D’Or. It is very impressive that someone had the idea of converting what l would think was a kind of ancient slum housing built near the summit of a small mountain, into a luxury hotel but it does, even for the comfortably well off, result in certain constraints. I arrived by taxi and made the mistake of entering by the main gates, wandering around for some time, while climbing and descending many steps but failing to find reception. I would probably still be wandering if a kindly Japanese guest had not escorted me.||From reception a young woman took me on a climb of about a hundred metres up to an enormous, beautifully decorated room with, an opinion with which l don’t think anyone could disagree, one of Europe’s best views. I decided to pass up on the Michelin 2 Star restaurant, set meal 340 euros, and instead eat my £2.50 M&S sandwich, before venturing out to investigate my best viewpoint for the last stage of the Tour de France, on climbing up the hill again, taking quite some time to find my room.||Breakfast alone on the hotel terrace was almost worth the £1,248 nightly cost of the room. I don’t like buffets but looking down on nine giant motor yachts and three real yachts 500 metres below, with a view of Cap Ferrat, then over the airport to Cannes and far beyond, really is a magnificent experience, especially as the man at the next table, a perfect ringer for a senior Mafioso, asked my advice on places worth adding to the dozen or so famous restaurants along the coast where he usually eats.||Why not a five star rating? Signposting within the precipitous grounds is dreadful, it taking me about ten minutes to find my way down the series of tortuous steps to the swimming pool and at that price, I much prefer to be served breakfast at the table, as is done at the otherwise very similar Chateau Eza. After much struggling I couldn’t persuade the shower to work and it took the expert sent to help about five minutes to do so, while opening and lock locking the room door with the unnecessarily high tech room key took minutes each time. I used to work in publicity for a university and l would be happy, in return for a few free nights for my wife and I, to sort out the signposting problem. A hotel with so many steps but few handrails would never be allowed to open in either the...

Very private and executive with some of the best views I ever seen. I don’t recommend if you have handicap as it takes lots of moving around and some sort of hiking. Amazing restaurants on the property and great service. Definitely private
