It is hard to rate an old fort. What is the rating based on? Everyone goes for different reasons. There is history, and the information displayed here is very minimal and the signs are faded. The upkeep, this is really sad here. There is a lot of trash, grass that is overgrown, and only one park bench. There are lights that no longer work and no trashcan in the parking lot. There just may not be enough funds for upkeep. The quality here lies in the location, which is easy to see because it is high on a hill, but hard to find how to get to it. I didn't see any signs off of main roads. The views from the stairs on the way up and from the top are really beautiful. It is quite a climb up the stairs to get to the top of the mountain where the fort is located so I would not recommend this for people with walking disabilities or wheelchairs. There was also a lack of information. Aside from a few signs there is nothing explaining anything about the history of the Fort. Parking is free and there are a few spots.
