O Plongeoir — Restaurant in Saint Martin (France)

This was the worst dining experience I have ever had.

There was a table that was seated after us and was served wine and water before we even got a menu. Then the server didn’t even know where the wine list was and said that he only worked one day a week. Some drinks were served and some were forgotten. We had to keep reminding our server of things we ordered.

It took us over 2 hours to get our meal. We asked for our food several times. There were 3 tables that were seated, served, and left around us who came after us.

The server blamed us for the delay because we ordered one plate without tomatoes or cheese. He said “the meal is late because you ordered a special meal”. I felt like a complete outcast.

DONT ORDER THE STEAK. The meat they gave us had a huge piece of fat. It wasn’t normal marbled meat, it was fat left that should have been cut off before it was cooked. The chef should be ashamed of themselves.

After waiting for 2 hours, 4 out of 5 meals were brought out, then on the way back to the kitchen the server stopped to take an order from another table before bringing out the last meal.

Our glasses were always empty and we always had to beg for basic things like water and drinks.

There’s things that could have been done but nothing was done to remedy this. No accommodations were made nor a sincere apology.

I will never come back here again and I will definitely never...

Don’t get my review wrong: Food was actually amazing. Had the tuna tartare. If it wasn’t for the service there, we would have given this place 5 stars. Our waiter made it seem like we were troubling him with our presence at the restaurant. Never engaged in our conversation, did not want us to order our appetizer first with our drink while we would look more at the menu (c’est trop compliqué he said ...), never checked on us while we were eating, never took our wine order until midway through our meal when we had to wave at him across the hall, then proceeded to take the lady’s order and quickly walk away without even asking if I too wanted a glass! Hopefully the management reads my review to get this addressed because if they do, then you have a solid restaurent...

Was a nice outlook and cosy restaurant. We had a polite young girl serving us, but a more mature server in her 30s or so kept scowling at her and it was obvious. We were considering to have lunch and we were discussing over a rum and pineapple if we wanted to eat now or wait a few hours because we had a late breakfast. When this mature server came to bring us our menu we said just drinks for now and she wasn't happy with that. The restaurant was almost empty so it wasn't like we were taking up seats for lunch customers and it was just on noon. This put us off so we decided not to have lunch but had two more drinks each and left a proper tip and left. I did not feel welcome so...
