Princes' Vegetable Garden — Attraction in Senlis

There are not words for how special this garden is, and how lovingly it is maintained. Educational and whimsical for little ones as for adults - it's truly a place out of childhood dreams, exposing reality for the magic it is. Rabbit races, theater over the lake, halloween festivities and, as I can imagine, more; we can't wait to spend time in the Potager every visit we spend in the region. The upcoming possibility to hear the music of the trees has us all waiting excitedly ! We see the groundskeeper on every visit. He is always so kind, patient and informative. Such a marvel how he maintains it all... with the help of Fuego the dog of course. Mille mercis pour votre travail remarquable, qui fait de ce lieu un endroit véritablement spectaculaire.

Just walked round this garden having paid 9.50 euros each. The lady in the ticket office was charming and helpful and the walk from the entrance was amazing with beautiful paintings of birds, rabbits & plants, to entice and excite the visitor. But what a disappointment followed. Although there were many explanatory boards they were only in French - not at all helpful for tourists from other nations like us. The animals were in tiny enclosures and we felt sorry for the African tortoise all alone in his barren run. The whole garden seemed lacking in colour and dry. We wondered if there was a hosepipe ban? The cafe was shut, in the middle of the tourist season, so strange and unfriendly. We had waited years for the opportunity to see this garden but found ourselves...

AMAZING place! We visited the Potager des Princes with our 2.5 year old daughter. The grounds are simply stunning, and the animals aplenty! This is a zoo unlike any other. There were birds, sheep, ponies, pigs, ducks and more. The rabbits live in the cutest little French village kind of houses, and many birds and ducks roam free among the land. We fell in love with this place, and hope to go back again before we leave...
