Europa Therme Bad Füssing — Attraction in Bad Füssing

We recently visited the Europa thermal bath complex that left us with mostly positive impressions. Here are some highlights and points to consider:

Positives: The thermal bath complex is quite large. There are many different pools with temperatures ranging from 18 to 40 degrees Celsius. It was Sunday and quite crowded, but we were still able to find a spot. The restaurant was good with relatively tasty food and large portions, though it was not cheap. The glass walkways between the thermal baths are likely very pleasant in winter, though a bit warm in the summer.

Points to Consider: The indoor thermal baths were stuffy. Access to the salt room requires an additional 2 euros, which you need to carry with you. The facility uses an outdated system for managing services. You have to carry heavy keys and money, whereas most modern thermal baths use electronic bracelets for visitors. In these baths, you also need to carry money to buy food, whereas in other places you can pay with a bracelet upon exit. There are long corridors between changing rooms, and it is often unclear where to go.

Attention, if you are a foreigner like me, be aware of this place! Service is just inappropriate. I came for the first time and didnt know any rules of ticket purchase and using of facilities. At the entrance you see a window and there is sitting a witch with the curly red hair who will scream at you and asking stupid question in German like: What you dont understand? You speak russian or chech language? I didnt get why she asked about my native language if she doesn't speak any, except German. Nowhere it's written or told by anyone that I have to keep this ticket card till the time I go out, otherwise I cant do that. Because another woman on this reception offered me to go and find my card in the garbage and then to come back. I come to get relaxation in the swimming pools and become healthy not to stand and argue with staff! If pensioneers come to you, the young generation will never come again it's for sure. Massage therapist was good and the pools. But the rest is killing the wish to come back here. And for god sake make the page with rules of entry and how to get the key for the locker, because young Germans were standing in front of this hell machine and didnt know...

Wer wie wir Thermen liebt, kommt natürlich an Bad Füssing nicht vorbei. Eine dieser tollen Thermen ist diese. Wir waren rundum zufrieden mit der weitläufigen Badelandschaft, der Sauberkeit und dem guten Zustand aller Räumlichkeiten. Da es viele Außenbecken gibt, lohnt sich der Aufenthalt besonders bei schönem Wetter und Temperaturen, wo man noch draußen auf einer der vielen tollen Liegen in der Sonne liegen kann.

Das Essen war wirklich außerordentlich gut, das Personal durchweg super freundlich, die Preise für Therme und Essen fair. Das Schwefel-Gas-Bad für einen sehr kleinen Aufpreis können wir auch empfehlen, man darf 3 Mal für je 10 Minuten hinein, und durch diese mehrfach wirksame Zusammensetzung des Wassers fühlt man sich nach dem Bad darin wie aus Gummi, im besten Sinne.

Für Kinder gab es keine Becken oder Ecken, jedoch haben wir ein paar Kinder gesehen, die trotzdem ihre Freude an dem warmen Wasser hatten.☺️

Das Parkhaus ist sehr weitläufig, aber kostenfrei 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻und alles ist gut ausgeschildert. Selbstverständlich ist alles ebenerdig gestaltet.

☝🏻Einzig eine Sache bleibt zu bemerken: Ja, die Zielgruppe sind selbstverständlich ältere Menschen und das ist auch gut so. 95% der Badegäste gehörten dieser Gruppe an, sodass wir, die wir vom Alter her Enkel sein könnten, wirklich aufgefallen sind. Das könnte und sollte einem bei dieser schönen Therme egal sein. Aber es ist eben schon so gewesen, dass wir (in angemessener, nicht aufreizender normaler Badekleidung und auch sonst optisch nicht weiter auffallend) schon sehr angestarrt wurden, vermutlich nur weil wir jung sind, obwohl wir uns auch angemessen verhalten haben. Das war schon unangenehm, egal wo man war, minutenlang oder länger - angestarrt zu werden wie ein bunter Hund...🫣 Man versucht es zu ignorieren, aber so über einen ganzen Tag lang war's nervig. Ich wurde als Frau (obwohl ich zu den wenigen Frauen gehöre, die noch schickliche Badekleidung tragen, wo man nicht alles/ bzw. wenig sieht!) wirklich von unzähligen Blicken ausgezogen, wann immer ich Mal in die Runde schaute - oder sogar angebaggert, obwohl mein Mann nicht weit weg war...😒 Das muss man halt wissen, und für diejenigen, die sich auch gern auf so eine Situation mental vorbereiten, hab ich diese Anmerkung hier...
