Without a doubt the best museum I’ve visited ever! I expected it’d take 1.5-2 hours to get around but I think we were there around 3 in the end, it was just so much fun!

There was a mix of nostalgia from games I’d played or been aware of growing up, and stuff that pre-dates me by a good 30-40 years, it was so interesting to see how games have developed over the years, and to get to play hands on with some of what was there.

Especially interesting were some of the modern games for retro consoles, particularly Micro Mages and Rom Check Fail.

We spent a good chunk of time in the arcade and can see how it’s easy to get drawn in! Something just hit different playing on those machines that you know modern emulation wouldn’t do justice to unfortunately.

Would highly recommend a visit to anyone able to get there, and will likely go back if I’m ever in...

This place stretches the word "museum". It's more of a collection of old tech with some very short informational texts. There doesn't seem to be a particular order to the exhibits, it's all just there randomly. The whole exhibition isnt very big either, so I felt like 11€ was a bit of a rip off. The main attraction seemed to be the arcade games you could play. There were a lot of them. Unfortunately they were always occupied by the swarms of little kids running around, even though I came in the evening. I really would have wished for more information on particular games, not just the very old consoles. The information was often outdated too, they called WoW the biggest online game 😂 Still three stars because they had a Wii where you could play Wii sports resort (best game of all time) and the...

A spontaneous visit turned out to be underwhelming and disappointing for the most part. The exhibition is chaotic, many things are unknown to basically anyone (and I say this as a person in my 20s who is quite familiar with gaming), many of which cover only the 70-80s period. Many stands are just unclear - you can't understand first if you can try something there or it's just a demo video or whatever. Sometimes controls aren't clear (it would be so easy to add basic info what any button does) and sometimes they just don't work. Absolutely missing PC-gaming and actually anything really significant and influential. My impression was that people creating it and selecting the exhibits aren't that familiar with the industry. Also, the toilets were...

If you like video games, this place is a good call. Over here you can play several old school arcades and console games, learn a lot about companies, developers and pretty much all about electronic games. It is very interactive and entertaining, and it is probably a good place to bring (older) children as well. The downside for me was the price. Although it was all and all an enjoyable experience, the adult ticket costs 8 euros (there are also the options of concession 6 euros or children 4 euros), which in my opinion was a bit excessive, taking into account the size of the exposition. But that seems to be the average price for museums in Berlin. Anyways, it was a good fun and I would recommend, if the price itself is not enough to put you off.
