Where does one begin?
We arrived at the hotel to a notice that there will be no hot water from 8am-8pm the following day. Which being 2 people, made us have to wake up at 6:30 a day after full travel. No notice of this was given before our arrival.
We were then alerted that a €50 deposit was needed incase we used any amenities.. no notice of this when booking. No notice of this after. But fair do, we paid.
The following day my partner asked to use the FREE SAUNA which on the NH app said towel, spa gown and locker provided. To be alerted a €25 deposit was needed. Let’s remember, you took a deposit yesterday for any amenities we used.
For a 4 star hotel, the service should be better. Hidden fees for such trivial things should either be notified in advance or at least added to advertisement on the app. We have no issue with payment, this left us in a position of being mistrusting and a sour taste in our mouth.
The room was standard, definitely not the usual NH decor. Very basic with sachets of coffee etc, no mini bar, 5 hangers for clothes, dirty glasses rinsed under bathroom sink daily. Opposite construction site starting work as early as 7:30am.
While an under-average stay on the verge of souring our Berlin experience as a couple. I recommend for a place to sleep and not indulge. A place to walk into and not engage with staff.
We will choose another hotel when we...
Read moreThis is our 2nd time to checked in a NH Hotel. We came from NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower.
We had some problems on our 2nd Night; technically our third day.
We opted for our room to be cleaned. Our towels to be changed. But when we arrived. We saw some Food Trash beside the trash can.
It is actually our trash from last night's midnight snack.
We placed them beside the trash can as it doesn't fit the trashcan anymore
This saddens and disappoints me because the cleaning of the room isn't that 100 percent. They threw away the trash on the bin but they left the food trash beside it.
Also, the Television isn't that Smart TV yet for us to watch Youtube. Not really a problem because we had our tablets and laptops. But this is a venue for improvement for the hotel.
Also, coffee machine are still the old one that you have to boil it in a kettle. Compared to NH Collection Frankfurt Spin Tower. They are serving Nespresso already.
Also, the air conditioning wasn't that good. We always open our window for the air to come and ventilate the room.
The room was spacious enough for the two of us with our four big luggages.
The hotel is located near the tram station. So in a minute or 2 you will be at the tram station which will bring you to the main plaza of Alexanderplatz after 5...
Read moreI understand that this is a chain hotel and should have expected service to reflect this. They don't need to be nice to patrons , so they aren't. We stayed here for here for three nights and thought as a chain it would be really nice. I was completely wrong. This hotel is a splurge to stay at- for me anyway- I thought you would have been treated a bit better. On arrival we weren't even greeted with a hello. There was absolutely no friendlies from any of the front of house staff whatsoever. Some didn't even look at you when they spoke to you. We weren't even told that the hotel had a sauna untilt the last day when we were talking to other guests. The bar staff also were just plain rude. They didn't want to be bothered or answer your questions. I wasn't prepared to spend €21 per person for breakfast so I can't speak to that, however I did get the fish for dinner for €24 it was a joke. No salad and quite tasteless. It wasn't the nicest of environments either, just a nothing hotel, unmemorable and wish I had of spent my hard earned money somewhere else. I got an email for feedback regarding our stay and answered honestly and that someone could contact me , what I received what an automated response which is what I expect with...
