Life changing experience, I danced liked never before & met so many amazing people. It's more than a club it's a community, mini festival & space for free expression.
There are multiple stages ranging from down tempo, to house, to acid techno & hard techno. I especially loved the acidic cosmic techno sound in many of the sets, this repeating euphoric theme song I can't remember the name of, ultra high energy djs & open crowd. Great quality sound systems.
Something took over me I've never danced on so many stages or clubbed so hard in my life. Inspired by the ambience I even created a new dance style I call Robot Flow ;) It was like the highest expression of me emerging. The atmosphere is multidimensional with ambient lighting, art, a cafe, fireplace, a fish pond, food stalls, in & coutdoor stages & even a place to make your own coloured t-shirt & get life advice. We were even invited to a naked tea party. You can really choose your experience & seemlessly switch between them.
It's fascinating to see such a colourful, unique expression of humanity all celebrating together during the not-birthday special event. It's like an ecstatic playground. Choose your expression, your stage, your music, your crowd, your vibe. I loved that I could switch between such a polarity of energies instantly as it suits my extreme personality type. One minute I could be going ultra hard at the hard techno stage, then I could be dancing on stage in the alleyway stage, I could witness cheesy karaoke, chill by the fire with a hot chocolate, dance to some industrial house or recharge with some mushroom soup & conversation next to the fish. I could chill like a king on the random magestic bed & chat with the most amazing people. It's almost like a fantastical microcosm of Berlin.
I was dressed as myself, in checked track pants, blue sport shoes, a bright blue beanie, hooded black jumper & jean jacket, orange bumbag. Practical, comfortable, ready to dance, not in exuberant party clothes or all black. May as well be the rainbow serpent among the black sea ;) With all these clubs I think the dress code is just an indication of your state and emotional awareness of the situation you are entering, the best advice truly is to be yourself. Don't try to dress how you think you should to get in. They can tell when the outfit is wearing you.
Just dress as yourself, if it's an energetic match great, if not, it's not meant to be. I think that sort of semi-indifference & self confidence helps. Getting in to a club, however exclusive does not make someone special, getting turned away does not make someone lesser than.
I went with a friend he's Israeli, we were both on holidays for 2 weeks. I was visting from London scouting a possible move if I like Berlin. I'm Chinese Australian, neither of us speak German & we didn't pretend like we do. I think we just said were here to enjoy the music or something. It was one of their busiest nights as it was their 'nicht gebutstag' event so it's hard as they can't let everyone in because of capacity limits. It's not racial it's energetic fitwise.
The rave is one of the most important spaces in society, influencing the zeitgeist, fashion, music & culture of society. In today's society it's one of the few spaces that brings together people from all backgrounds in presence for extended periods. A low ego space where people can transcend the limits of the self, the usual reality & explore the possible, the divine, that which connects us. Music is the glue of humanity.
Yes certain 'supplements' may be being used but used properly they are a tool for connection. Just do them out of sight & don't forget to hydrate & recyle. You get money back for bringing the bottle back. Never eat a heavy meal before going raving, soups are better. Great footware is essential! Breathable clothing you don't mind damaging, drenching in sweat or losing. There is a well organised cloak room thought!
Highly recommended, Sisy is an important medium for cultural propagation, self exploration & community building....
Read moreAhh sisyphos. It was one of the clubs I was most looking forward to when visiting berlin. It's a place that many have reccomend to me.
I'll say a few things about this place
Door policy: The night that I was there, I was wearing non branded all black, including a black trench coat and got in with no trouble at all. It's obviously better to wear colourful attire, but I got the vibe that getting into the club was pretty easy. I was also in a group of 5 other people
The club: The whole club itself is insane. The scale, the stages, the atmosphere, it is honestly as big, if not bigger than many festivals out there. It is just a giant venue. There is even a cafe for the morning ravers. Each stages as well were playing different genres of music, some trance, drum and base as well as your typical berlin style techno.
The issues: Now the biggest issue I had and again this is purely from my perspective is that the place is just too big. You can easily get lost in the place, especially if it's your first time visiting. If you are going with friends, stick with them as if you split up...good luck finding them
Half the club itself is outdoors. Meaning that in the winter, you better be bringing something warm as you will spend half the time outside. I would say this is more of a club to attend in the summer. The indoor stages are huge though.
The crowd: I did not vibe with the crowd. It felt a bit weird and not your typical berlin techno crowd. Everyone kept to themselves, were rude and overall were not willing to engage in conversation. It seems like this was the type of place where everyone stuck to their friend groups, so if you do attend to this place, it's best to go with some friends
The music: The DJs were all good....that's about it. Again there were multiple stages playing all kinds of techno music including your typical dark / industrial berlin style, trance / psy and even a drum and base. Overall you will find a stage that you love. My personal favourite was the trance stage.
Overall, I still do think that this club is incredible and absolutely worth visiting. I was slightly let down. However, I'm glad I attended. I do think there are better clubs out there in Berlin...
Read moreExtremely disappointing – disrespectful and hypocritical treatment of guests
We queued at Sisyphos for over four hours on Saturday night – from 9:30 pm to around 1:30 am – only to be turned away by a bouncer without a single word of explanation. I was completely sober, respectfully dressed, friendly – nothing about my appearance or behavior should’ve raised any red flags.
What made it even worse: People kept cutting the line constantly, and not discreetly – we’re talking about full-on coked-up, pushy, arrogant party bros, elbowing their way forward without a shred of decency. And Sisyphos? No staff outside, no security, no coordination. Those who behaved respectfully were punished for it.
Adding insult to injury: right next to the entrance is a large “Awareness” sign, telling people to “respect boundaries” and “look out for each other.” Seriously? That sign might as well be satire. Because what we saw outside was pure chaos, aggression, and total indifference – and the club did absolutely nothing about it.
On top of that, there was a separate guest list line – not just for artists or staff (which would be totally understandable), but for dozens of randoms with “connections”, skipping hundreds of people who had been waiting for hours. No signage, no information, no transparency – just pure Berlin door politics at its worst.
And for that, they expect you to pay €25, with no published lineup, and a well-known reputation for pickpockets inside. I wore a fanny pack – not for style, but for safety – and apparently, even that made me look suspicious.
Sisyphos presents itself as a liberal, open, progressive, and conscious space. But in reality, it feels more like a chaotic ego trip wrapped in buzzwords, full of elitism, double standards, and total disregard for guests. Behind the dreamy image of freedom and openness lies a
place that acts like an alternative utopia – but operates like a full-on trashy elitist circus for those who know someone...
