Promptly opened at 10 am. We were among the first to enter. At 8.50 euro adult and 4.50 child return, seems fair for nearly 20 min ride in each direction. Ride wa smooth and safe, helpful assistants at both ends.Yet not boring at all, given the views. We took it both up and down as did the hike to Hubertus viaduct right after this. Saw several people struggling up on the hiking path that runs parallel and sometimes crisscrossing underneath the cable car route. The suppose it would be best to go up by cable car one way and return down by hike as it would give better views, else the Rhine views would mostly to ones back going up. At the top, a few min walk brings one to the Gedeons eck restaurant and panorama blick. Best to reach 10-11 am soon after the cable car starts to get best views without interrupting those sitting to eat but the restaurant does open at 10 as well if one wants something to eat or drink. A further 10 min walk brings one to the so called 4- lake view of the Rhine but it was nothing much, probably just a way to attract people to the restaurant there. One can approach by car from the back roads to this point , there is plenty of parking. Only after coming down did we notice free parking spots for visitors to cable car but we had already parked at the large paid parking lot nearby. Also there are a couple of toilets to the side of the ticket office.

Reasonably priced for the astounding views you get to enjoy on the way up, but especially back down! The staff were polite and attentive, and there's a small parking area in front of the lift. The journey takes around 20 minutes each way, but the views at the top have to be enjoyed for much longer, so ensure you allow time to truly appreciate them. There's a path for those who want a single journey on the ski lift, but it looks steep and rocky. For those adrenaline seekers, you can even take your bike up on the lift and cycle down!! We stuck to a return journey on the lift!

We came here to see the Rhein at its lowest. The sesselbahn is CASH only. The whole ride up was Filthy. It was heartbreaking to witness from our chair. This is the most Covid debris (mask) littered area of natural beauty I have visited in Europe. When I asked if the sessel bahn operators had considered picking up the masks I was told I should walk down and pick them up myself... Customer service at its finest. Boppard sesselbahn employees have nothing to be proud of.

Getting off the train, out of the station and turn left, it's about 15 minutes walk, mostly on the promenade to Sesselbahn (chairlift, €13.9), where you can either take the chair up (20 minutes ride each way) or hike the 915 meter to Vierseenblick / Four-lake view. I hiked only up half way - getting down is too much a challenge for me.

This is a steep chair ride up to a nice hiking area and there is a short walk to a lookout area and restaurant. The view is lovely. If you have trouble walking on dirt, gravel and uneven surfaces you might want to consider a walking stick or foldable cane. The ride takes about 20 minutes each way.
