Beautifully restored castle with three different museums integrated into it. The entrance fee covers the castle, museums and visiting the theater that is also part of the castle, as well as the 'Herzogliches Museum' across the street. The staff is friendly and helpful and will cheerfully share stories and history of the castle itself and it's various inhabitants. The place is a treasure trove of exhibits and history affine kids will love it. Plan to spend at least three hours to cover all that can be seen. During our stay there was a little snack bar in the castle yard that served...

Also alles in allem besteht hier auf jeden Fall deutlicher...

Unfortunely many descriptions in the palace are in German and people who work there are not able to speak English even though this place visit many foreigners and the Queen Elizabeth II comes from the noble family who used to live here. I am not going to learn German language which is not international. It is a waste of time. What's more English and German derive from the same language tree, so these languages are similar so I think some German people don't want to speak English becouse of the...

Schloss Friedenstein is a very large castle but one only gets to see a small portion of it. The castle has seen better days and needs some serious renovation. However, what you do get to see is worth going for. Several rooms have beautiful decor and furnishing. The entrance fee is also very reasonable. There is a restaurant on the castle ground but it was unfortunately closed when we were there.
