Handschuhsheim, Tiefburg — Attraction in Heidelberg

Visited the little castle on the 2nd weekend of Advent when the local community has a Christmas market. Probably felt like the castle would have when it was actively in use as it was bustling, and the smell of roast meat permeated the area.

In the building in the center, they have multiple floors which all had food and vendors for the event. They were selling Christmas trees in the courtyard and had performances by community members as well as more food and drink vendors.

Irgendwie unerwartet taucht in diesem netten Ortsteil von Heidelberg in Form der Tiefburg ein hübsches Schmankerl auf. Gerade die Front am Parkplatz ist tatsächlich ein paar Minuten des Staunens wert. Scheinbar finden in der Burg gelegentlich Veranstaltungen statt, die den Besuchern auch die Möglichkeit bieten, sich innerhalb des Gemäuers umzusehen und die von außen sichtbar gut erhaltene Substanz zu bewundern.

Wenn nicht gerade Markttag ist, wird der Platz vor der Burg als Parkplatz genutzt. In Heidelberg eine Seltenheit, dass es möglich ist, mit dem Kfz an einer Sehenswürdigkeit zu parken.
