We left Marstall mall to take a stroll and discover the lovely area around it . Eine grüne Lunge in der östlichen Hälfte Ludwigsburgs, die leider etwas brach liegt.

Die fußläufige Anbindung an die Innenstadt ist durch die an dieser Stelle sechsspurige Stuttgarter Straße (B27) sehr erschwert und nur an zwei Ampeln möglich.

Die Bärenwiese wird durchaus ansprechend gärtnerisch bepflanzt und gepflegt. Räumlich verbindet sie in nord-südlicher Richtung das Blühende Barock und das Forum am Schlosspark, das Nestor-Hotel und - deutlich weiter im Süden - den Salonwald.

Das Gelände umfasst zwei große kostenpflichtige, preisgünstige Parkplätze, eine breite Fußgängerallee hin zum Blühenden Barock sowie zwei große Grünflächen, die hauptsächlich von Hundebesitzern zum Gassigehen und Auslauf genutzt werden. Menschen erfreuen sich an reichlich Parkbänken, Blumen und Bäumen sowie einem Kinderspielplatz.

Im Frühsommer beherbergt die Bärenwiese den mehrtägigen Pferdemarkt mit Vergnügungspark.
