Bunter Garten — Attraction in Mönchengladbach

Beautiful place for a walk. A very nice Kinderspielplatz . Free parking on road. WC is not available. Botanischer Garten . A few birds and animals in a small setup. Beautiful flowers and trees all around. Lot of benches to sit around in peace. Ice cream van on spot sometimes. Basketball and volleyball courts. Spent a lovely day with kids.

Always a nice place to visit, flower displays are beautiful and the entire park is so well maintained. One thing that could improve the park is a public toilet.

Lovely place to bring your family. Loads of beautiful coloured flowers and seating areas. It is located in the heart of MG. The houses sourrounding this park is just amazing - really shows that this area is sourrounded by people that are well off and this park...

I've been walking throgh this park several times in summer of 2016. Just living around for two months i hadn't too many places to go. A typical german park. Ordnung muss sein. This is a german phrase describing some kind of philosophy - a tidy place, planned, where you can see that someone is working to keep the place in the nominal title (that is a garden) but absolutely without hart and soul. Tipical cold and pragmatic german place for walking. If you plan a place to fall in love with somebody during a walk - you should avoid this place. Maybe earlier than summer - when more flowers are blowing - but that's not...

Parken zu sonnigen Zeiten chaotisch. Ich habe das Glück am Bunten Garten zu wohnen, aber wer von weiter weg kommt und mit dem Auto anreist, findet weit und breit keinen Parkplatz, da die liebe Stadt und deren Verkehrsplanung sämtliche Parkplätze am Bunten Garten zum Schutz der Bäume beseitigt hat.

Wie jetzt Mütter mit Kindern zum Spielplatz sollen oder "Touristen", die mit das einzig Schöne von MG besuchen wollen, bleibt mir ein Rätsel. Die Stadt verweist immer auf Parkmöglichkeiten wären überall um den Park gegeben, die wüsste ich gerne. Denn als Anwohner findet man hier tagsüber weit und breit keinen Parkplatz.

Der oft verwiesene "Wanderparkplatz" in der Nähe vom Dorint Hotel ist auch immer voll, dasselbe gilt für Peter Nonnen Mühlen Allee oder Seitenstraßen. Wenn man Glück hat, kann man am Hauptfriedhof parken.

Ansonsten sehr schöner Park mit wechselnder Bepflanzung und gepflegt. Nur die Parksituation bleibt chaotisch, besonders wenn - wie ich hörte - die Parkplätze unter den Linden in der Franziskaner Str. auch noch alle wegfallen. Keine Ahnung, wo die Bewohner parken sollen, denn die Parkplätze sind schon alle belegt durch die Angestellten der umliegenden Büros, Schulen und Altenheime und wie gesagt, bei schönem Wetter für Besucher des Bunten Gartens aussichtslos, zu parken.

Aber ist ja alles ganz toll und durchdacht und so gewollt von der Verkehrsplanung und Stadtumgestaltung. Herzlichen Dank an die Planer am Reißbrett, die nie vor Ort hier sind und nicht stundenlang Parkplätze...
