Mercure Parkhotel Mönchengladbach — Hotel in Mönchengladbach

NOT recommendable. Had a room over the sauna, as it seems, the room was unbelievably hot. But the air condition device (it SAID "AIR CONDITION") supposedly was non...just an "air distributor"...which is what broken air condition devices become... Couldn't open the window all the way, as it was stuck...someone came to unlock and looked at me with disdain that it wasn't locked...so what did I want? I didn't want to break the bloody window... Then the window was open and the heat that was in the room whenever I closed the window kept me from closing it again...even with the SMOKER TENT just below my window... Which is really nice for an ex-smoker...to have all that smoke get into the room... And they were having a party down there it seemed...

And the result?

I am sick now. Should be on vacation...but I am sick. Have a bloody cold that started the night I had to sleep with the bloody window open.

Thanks a lot!! NEVER again.

And the hotel is old and shabby by now. Nothing compared to the pictures.

My husband and I came for one night to relax and explore the city.

Not a bad place, but each of you decides for yourself what of the minuses is tolerable, and what is not and what pluses are not enough to a good assessment, but this is our assessment and our decision

quiet place breakfast which was included in the price (would have been ideal if they added salmon) there is a lovely, large park nearby with a great variety of tree species and plants and even a place for birds also not far away was a shopping center and various establishments the lighting in the room is nice two bottles of water

outdated room design The staff was not very friendly, after our simple questions they looked at us as if we were fools no slippers, bathrobes, additional personal...

Stayed here from the 19.7. - 21.7.19. Really enjoyed our stay. The reception very friendly, the room more than adequate. It's only a 10 minute walk into town with all the shop you can dream of. Breakfast in the morning very nice and plenty of it. Hot & cold. They have also got a Spa centre (swimming pool, steam bath, sauna). We made use of it yesterday. The only thing is that some people were in the nude at one point or another. It seems to be norm in Germany. I spoke to the receptionist this morning about this and he assured me that he would enquire about this. It doesn't bother us, but there might be other people who would take offence to it. We would certainly come back to this hotel should we be...
