It's a strange place. Reminder of soviet occupation. But renovated. Location of KGB residency in Potsdam. One of many locations. You may choose to watch KGB...

Auf Anordnung König Friedrich Wilhelms III. wurde die russisch-orthodoxe Kirche im altrussischen Baustil nach Entwürfen des Sankt Petersburger Hofarchitekten Wassili Petrowitsch Stassow mit klassizistischen Ergänzungen Karl Friedrich Schinkels erbaut. Sehr schöne orthodoxe Kirche mit Tradition und Geschichte. Liebe Touristen, bitte Respekt! Beschwerden hier, über Öffnungszeiten, Fotoverbot und solche Dinge sind unangebracht. Unfassbar! Es ist nicht Disneyland! Es ist eine Kirche, wo Menschen beten und nicht nur eine Filmkulisse. In Babelsberg gibt es das, was ihr wollt, Incl. Öffnungszeiten, Fotos von Harry Potter, etc. fahrt doch...

Auf Anordnung König Friedrich Wilhelms III. wurde die russisch-orthodoxe Kirche im altrussischen Baustil nach Entwürfen des Sankt Petersburger Hofarchitekten Wassili Petrowitsch Stassow mit klassizistischen Ergänzungen Karl Friedrich Schinkels erbaut. Sie war ein Manifest, mit dem der König die enge Freundschaft von Preußen und Russland feiern wollte. Die Bauarbeiten fanden zwischen 1826 und 1829 statt.

Nimmt man die Russische Kolonie, die samt Kirche in einer parkähnlichen Anlage liegt, hinzu, so ergibt dies einen schönen Spaziergang mit hübschen Fotomotiven (in der Kirche, die innen kleiner ist, als es zunächst den Anschein hat, ist das Fotografieren übrigens verboten). Wenn es ein bisschen mehr sein darf: das Belvedere liegt nur wenige hundert Meter entfernt.

Du trittst näher und kannst für Zeuge sein, wie drinnen das orthodoxe Weihnachtsfest gefeiert wird. Die kleine Kirche gibt immer wieder Gelegenheit, für kurze Zeit in eine andere Welt einzutauchen.....
