Wehranlagen Schweinfurt — Attraction in Schweinfurt

I love this park, surrounded by lovely trees and well tended gardens with delightful shady spots to relax and many benches to sit on. It is a green oasis with Mallard ducks-flocked lake and at times swans. DO NOT FEED the DUCKS or any of the Anatidae! Reasons: Their diet is strongly influenced by what food is available in their aquatic habitats and are already abundant for them in the lakes - available in forms of worms, snails, molluscs, small fish, frogs and aquatic foliage. They graze on the grass too. Bread, not only it is detrimental to them and for the environment as well. Bread swells up in their stomach and leftover bread gets mouldy, attracts pests like rats. Once overfed on bread will likely not forage for the foods they really need. Signs are clearly posted, please respect or face fines. Fines in Germany aren't to be trifle with,...

Ein wirklich schöner Park, auch nach 40 Jahren als ich das letzte Mal hier war. Der große Springbrunnen mit seinen vielfältigen Fontänen begrüßt am Anfang des Weges alle Besucher und ist ein echter Hingucker. Ein gut angelegter Spielplatz mit vielen Möglichkeiten und Geräten zum spielen, toben und bewegen. Die vielen Wanderwege sind fantastisch!!! Der Wald und die Natur ist vorwiegend natürlich gelassen worden. Für abenteuerliche Kinder und Eltern sind kleine Abzweigungen vom Hauptweg, bei denen man zum Fluß Main kommt und allemal die Phantasie anregen....vom Hexentreff, Indianercamp bis hin zum Piratenunterschlupf. Ich bin sehr begeistert nach 40 Jahren mit meinen Enkelinnen hier wieder Erholung und Abenteuer zu erleben. Die Wehranlage ist ganz sicher weiter zu empfehlen...

Besonders im Sommer sind Park und Kinderspielplatz echt schön - der Springbrunnen und die Wiesen-Baum-Atmosphäre wären natürlich noch besser, wenn der Verkehrslärm nicht wäre - aber da will ich mich nicht allzu sehr beschweren, weil hier auch die beste Parkmöglichkeit ist, um relativ schnell in die Innenstadt zu gelangen (Tip).
