I would avoid this at all costs, unless someone gives you a free ticket and you and you want to use the toilets!
From my perspective and compared to places that do it well:
This place was disgustingly cheap looking and seemingly poorly maintained, it didn't, at least to me, look at all as described.
In my opinion: Imagine a half abandoned pop up laser tag store and cheap halloween supply place got dumped on an almost abandoned 1990s aquatic life display and you come close to the sensory nightmare that was this venue.
The displays and video game controllers were broken, or at least not working, and even if they were working, they were just shoehorned into the rest of the event. There didn't seem to be any theme that made sense.
For the fish: The tanks and display areas weren't obviously dirty, but they were seemingly not well maintained and updated, at least optically.
My impression was that is was low rent, poor quality, barely science content. It felt like it made and maintained by people with no passion for education or experience with integrating tech and education.
My kids were really excited about going, but even more excited about leaving!
Instead of learning about the ocean and the local biomass, we saw cheap looking displays of fake pirate bones, overly loud music, barely working nonsensical video games, and worse, had to deal with bad lighting and terrible sound.
They could at least add some bass traps in the ceilings so you don't have to hear babies screaming and kids yelling on the other side of the building.
Better sound and lighting, dump the half thought out dated pirate stuff, focus in on the science, maybe?
It felt like if someone, anyone, gave 2 seconds to de-crapify the place, it could be nice.
From my experience and in my opinion, this place is not worth 5€ for a family, never mind...
Read moreSo, disclaimer* we had 2 free adult tickets, only paid for our 3 kids (€40?). That being said, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here, but we did walk through the whole thing in under an hour. Now, our kids do tend to run to each exhibit as fast as the next (excitement). It really is what you make it, if we had spent over €70 for our family of 5, we may have lingered longer. It does seem a bit pricey for the size and exhibits, but, we have been to many aquariums and this (in our opinion) was one of the neatest atmospheres! The whole aquarium is just one big exciting exhibit in itself. Our kids absolutely loved it and we thoroughly enjoyed watching them! Also, many people commented regarding the food. We didn't eat but did look at the menu, we thought the prices were reasonable. However, we didn't eat, maybe the foods not good lol. We had a good time, it wasn't crowded at all, and the balcony where you can sit and eat if you wanted had lovely views! side note You should update your website for ticket purchases. When entering the billing address for cc info, there is no option for the US or even the UK. I was unable to purchase tickets online because of this. Just a recommendation if that...
Read moreNov24: LONG Review: heavily overpriced, too tiny place with few things to offer.
It’s a very small aquarium/oceanarium that is very pricey for what it offers - 57€ tickets fee for 2 adults and 1 kid..it was very sad seeing how a big turtle stuck in aquarium and no one helped her. They offer some lectures about particular fish/animal, you can touch a starfish, see a few sharks and a turtle..you can also watch some shallow water aquarium with rays and reef sharks, glass is very scratched and dirty. Amazonian section has only 3-5 aquariums with piranhas a highlight. There is a sort of underwater tunnel..Fair price would have been 5-10€ per person max for this sort of a tour.
They have dirty snack bistro, no options on healthy food..paid parking onsite 7€/day, or 4€/day parking on premises (if you turn right while driving towards aquarium and are lucky enough to get a parking lot). There is only one WC next to the shop and cafe, along the halls you have no toilet.
We were done with the visit in 40 min. It could be suitable for kids up to 6 years old, but sorry not for that price.
Not recommended to visit, please consider all the low...
