Sommerbergbahn — Attraction in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Bad Wildbad

The Funicular ride up costs Euro 5,50 and is well worth the price. It's exciting, fun and VERY steep! The walk down, on the other hand, was pure torment. I walked down the Zickzackweg having anticipated a pleasant, sunny walk with incredibly picturesque views and vistas of surrounding mountains as well as the valley below. I experienced the total opposite. The 1,8 kilometer (slightly longer than 1 mile) path downhill is fraught with sharp pointed rocks and tree stumps and is at times, quite steep with significant erosion. Additionally, the path is completely surrounded by forest with no views of the surrounding area. I did not find the route at all pleasant (see pictures) and regretted having WALKED back to town. Easiest way up the mountain, €4pp. You can buy combi tickets from the ticket counter for the Baumwipfelpfad as well. Once you're at the top, there are a couple of restaurants, the Baumwipfelpfad and some really nice, gentle walks through the black forest. The paths are wide and well sign posted. Die Standseilbahn, derer Talstation sich am Uhlandplatz (grob im Zentrum) befindet und auf den Sommerberg führt kostet die Berg- und Talfahrt zusammen 8 Euro für Erwachsene. Es können auch Fahrräder mitgenommen werden, welche aber dann ein separates Ticket brauchen. Die Fahrt ist relativ kurz, aber verdammt steil. Oben angekommen bietet sich ein toller Blick auf Bad Wildbad und man hat unendliche Möglichkeiten, wie z.B. Wildline, Baumwipfelpfad, Abenteuerwald, Märchenweg, Hängebrücke usw.. um den Tag weiter gestalten zu können. Sprich man kann den ganzen Tag auf dem Berg verbringen. Es gibt auch genügend Wander- und Rundwanderwege. Nicht immer alles für Rollstühle und Kinderwägen geeignet. Jede Menge Bänke zum Verweilen sind vorhanden.
