On the top of the Gigelberg hill, as part of the old remains of the fortification wall, resides the Gigel tower (“Gigelturm”). It is located just 100 meters from the White Tower (“Weisser Turm”). It is an ideal destination of a round tour from the city center. On your way to the White Tower you can cross the beautiful Weberberg district, which ends near the White Tower. From there you walk up the gentle slope and cross the moat (“Hirschgraben”) via the bridge. After entering the gate you are standing in the middle of the two towers, on a viewpoint or lookout called “Schillerhöhe”, with the historic city center and the Weberberg district at your feet. Here the White Tower is on your right and Gigel Tower on your left. Now you can choose from two ways down, back into the city center.

Ușa turnului propriu-zis era închisă deci, este posibil sa se viziteze în sezon. Am făcut o rundă in jurul turnului. Priveliștea este superbă la fel și împrejurimile. Merita văzut. Încă ceva! 😁 Vă recomand să folosiți parcarea cea mare de pe strada principală. Este mai ieftină, are multe locuri de parcare, iar accesul pana la turn este ușoară si intuitivă. Nu este indicat sa pierdeți timp și nervi gandindu-va ca o sa găsiți loc de parcare în "apropiere": sunt doar locuri de parcare ale riveranilor iar locul este suficient de îngust pentru mașini mai mari sau greu de manevrat. Trebuie sa fie frumos în primăvara când infloresc copacii.

Der von Weitem sichtbare Weiße Turm auf dem Gigelberg ist über 40 m hoch, und auch wirklich schön leuchtendweiß gestrichen. Er wurde von 1476 bis 1484 erbaut und war Teil der Stadtmauer. Von hier aus hat man einen wunderbaren Blick über die Stadt Biberach.
