Eberbacher Hof — Restaurant in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Biberach an der Riß

I knew of this hotel from a former visit and decided to stay there again for one night.||This time we were very disappointed in our treatment (or lack of treatment) at the hotel.||Apart from an initial booking confusion due to the hotel misunderstanding a mail I sent them, (ok, that can happen) I have never stayed in a hotel where there is not a single member of staff present either in the evening or the morning. Had there been a serious problem - fire, door blocked etc - we would have been unable to deal with it. I was also unable to make use of the hotel wifi. ||We were unable to have breakfast in the hotel but I was only informed of this when I had already booked a second time. Even with the reduction in price the café breakfast did not make up for the traditional German hotel one.||As we could not pay the bill there, since there was no-one present, I was obliged to find another way to do so.||I let the hotel know how dissatisfied we were but received in return the invoice without a word of apology.||I did not expect this kind of treatment...

I stayed at the Eberbacher Hof for one night with two business colleagues. The inn is small (I think it might have 10 rooms?) and is not staffed except during business hours. We arrived and used the automated KeyBoy machine to get our room keys. The process was very simple.||||Breakfast was satisfactory, and included in the room rate. ||||The hotel has a restaurant, however it is not open on Sunday evenings so we ate at a restaurant down the block. ||||The hotel is located in the old city, near the center of town, and access is via a one-way street. Check the map carefully if driving... it took us a few tries to find the right combination of one way streets and turns to get to the hotel.||||The parking area holds 4-5 cars and due to its location in the old city, there are not may alternate options nearby.
