Klosterruine Hirsau — Attraction in Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Calw

Another incredible historic site. No charge to walk the complex with the abbey, chapel, city walls and castle. Mix of ruin and refortified and in use. There’s lots of nooks and crannies to explore and huge trees. One thing that was really unique to this site was a map of the complex color coded by period of construction from the Roman to the Goths to the Renaissance on to present day. There’s a paid parking lot across the street and probably free street parking in the old city. The city of Calw is a cute little fairy tale village. Klosterruine Hirsau , die Ruinen der Klosteranlage in Hirsau stammen aus dem 11.Jahrhundert - das Kloster an der Nagold war dem Heiligen Aurelius geweiht. Von der umfangreichen Kloster- anlage, die im Laufe der Jahrhunderte angepasst und erweitert wurde, sind nur noch die Wirtschaftsgebäude und die Marien-kapelle unversehrt geblieben. Vom Rest der Gebäude können leider nur noch die Ruinen bewundert werden - diese zeugen aber von der Größe und Bedeutung dieser Klosteranlage. Man kann wunderbar durch die Anlage spazieren gehen und die Zeit vergessen und sich selbst entschleunigen. Die Ruinen strahlen Kraft und Ruhe aus die man wirklich genießen kann und sollte. An Wochenenden und Feiertagen hat auch das Klostercafe` geöffnet. Der Besuch der Klosteranlage kostet keinen Eintritt - freie Parkplätze findet man in relativer Nähe - einfach den Parkierungsschildern folgen. Die Klosteranlage ist auch Veranstaltungsort für den Klostersommer und bietet dafür eine wunderbare und stimmungsvolle Kulisse.
