You have to climb a lot of steep and narrow stairs in this medivial tower to get to the top but you are rewarded with a unique 360° view of the city and surroundings. The climb itself is tiring but also not that bad because you have opportunities to sit down and rest. You can also stop to admire the architecture and wonder what it was like back when the tower was actively used.

Am süd-östlichen Rand am höchsten Punkt der Altstadt von Ravensburg ist der sogenannte „Mehlsack“, oder wie man auch sagt ein „Sackturm“, was immer das bedeuten mag. Von Bedeutung ist er dafür als das Wahrzeichen von Ravensburg, also mal abgesehen von Ravensburger Spiele. Er hat eine Höhe von 51 Metern und diente früher den Bürgern zur Kontrolle des Veitsburg-Geländes. Dort regierten Landvögte und damit die politischen Gegner der freien Reichsstadt. Aber das war lange vor meiner Zeit und interessanter ist es sicher den Berg zu erklimmen und einen grandiosen Blick über die Stadt Ravensburg zu genießen.

Il suo nome ( mehlsack= sacco di farina) e dovuto al suo colore bianco ed alla sua forma cilindrica, che ricordano appunto, un enorme sacco di farina. È visitabile nei mesi estivi, nei mesi estivi. L'ingresso è a offerta. Non può ospitare più di 6 persone per volta. Lo spettacolo sulla città vecchia è fantastico.

Ravensburg ist definitiv eine Reise wert. Ich lebe seit einem Jahr in der Nähe (Baienfurt). Kenne Ravensburg schon seit 4 Jahren und bin wirklich SEHR ANGETAN davon. Diese Stadt hat alles, was ich zum glücklich sein brauche. Und ich bin überzeugt, daß ich noch viele Sehenswürdigkeiten entdecken werde. Bitte unbedingt anschauen!!!!
