Ai Helis Beach — Attraction in Argostoli Municipality

The beach of Ai Helis, south of Argostoli, is a seashore near the village of Svoronata, consisting of fine sand and crystal-clear waters! It features shallow seabed and gentle waves, meaning that it is an ideal destination for kids. In addition, the sea rocks and fish make this a potential snorkeling destination, too!

Ai Helis is a semi-organized beach, as one side of the shore offers sunbeds and parasols to rent, whereas the other side is completely free for all visitors. Guests will also find shared outdoor showers on both sides of the beach. Follow a steep road or a long staircase in order to reach the seashore of Ai Helis, as well as the nearby tavern and the beach bar, playing upbeat music while serving drinks, refreshments, and a plethora of snacks! Great beach in the area but a bit more appealing to the younger generation. While the crystal clear waters are shallow enough, access to the beach requires climbing down and then up a very long stairway so it’s not exactly ideal for families. The beach also offers a beach bar, water sports and beach volley court. For the more brave swimmers, there’s a 15 foot drop in water from the end of the rocks on its left side. The grey sand is soft but a pain to take off the skin. Opt for an afternoon visit, there’s no sunset view here but the natural terrain offers a great shade. Lovely beach with brollys and sunbeds which were 4 euros a day. There is a waitress service for snacks and drinks so you don't even have to get up if you don't want to. Also there is a cafe up a small hill called the watermill nice food and ice cold drinks with lovely views over the bay. There are 2 ways to get to the beach one of which is longer but flatter. The other way you have 87 steps up the side of the hill quite steep but ok if you are wanting a bit of a workout. We used this beach everyday and lived it highly recommend it whichever way you choose...
