La Calma Greek Restaurant,Tavern & Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

I don’t get the positive reviews!! Ordered swordfish which was fine, it came with potatoes which were raw & cold, basically uncooked and soggy green veg covered in oil also cold & totally inedible, my sister had chips with her meal which were cold & soggy, when I pointed my disappointment with the food to the waiter (I assume it was the manager although he was scruffy & unkempt) he plonked a small salad down in front of me containing a few lettuce leaves & small bits of tomato also covered in oil and also inedible. When it came to paying the bill and I said I would appreciate a bit of discount as only the fish was edible the waiter/manager said and I quote “that won’t be happening”. We were customers and paid this restaurant for a product and service which was far below standards expected. I gave my share of the bill to my sister to pay and walked off. Do not go to this restaurant and if they lose money from my review then I am satisfied as they took money happily knowing they were in the wrong, apparently the waiter/manager actually apologised to my sister about the food but did not make any attempt to rectify it when given the opportunity or even give a discount. I am avoiding this place with a large barge poll and I hope others do to. As for the reply: Neither mine nor my sisters plates were empty, as stated the swordfish was fine it was everything else that was inedible and was therefore left on the plate. I only write reviews when I believe one is required, I do not cause trouble and I’m not a lier....

What a fantastic place, atmosphere was great, we got there at 7pm and immediately felt at home, traditional Greek feel. Our starter and follow on food was excellent served by the very polite owner. We had to start; Taramas, then Fillet of Sole for me, my wife had the Pork Chop, no retsina as its toward the end of the season and they won't restock, no problem, we had the house wine, it was lovely. We've been here 3 days and it's the best food we've had. After our meal we drifted into the cocktail bar for some of the best cocktails. I had the Manhattan, my wife had a Mu Tai, all bells and whistles. Going back again before the end of our week. Service and attitude superb. Well done.

I have to add that following our wonderful first visit we had a further 3 night's evening meals there and lunchtime drinks. All superb, the last night disco/karaoke was a great event. Anna running the bar is a very funny lady, she certainly knows her cocktails and remembers everyone's drinks from the night before.

The boss Phillipe and his son Lefteris were excellent to everyone on all our visits, we certainly felt at home and would revisit Svoranata just for the opportunity to eat and experience La Casa.

The gentleman owner is very lovely, as is the son, hes very attentive to customers and tries to get everyone served ASAP which is lovely.

Sadly the waitress Natalia has not very good customer service, waited 30 mins for order of drinks to be taken, waited another 20 mins for 3 drinks from the bar, my daughters frappe got made and brought over straight away by their lovely son as he is very attentive! Sadly my partner asked multiple times my for the bill and she just walked off, he went up to the bar and again asked and she walked off and started to dance around with the Dj.

We have visited here multiple times during our holiday and the lady behind the bar (Anna) has charged €1 or €2 more than we've been told our bill is (we added it up before placing the order, so we knew if to pay cash or card) sadly for this reason we won't be returning for the rest of our holiday which is a shame as like I previously stated the father and son are lovely.

We always tip so there was no need to tell us that the bill was more than it was just to gain an...
