A lovely Roman villa with gorgeous mosaics, but access is appalling. A rough concrete path with steps and incredibly steep ramp gives way to partially eroded soil and rocks. Entirely inaccessible to the disabled and those with babies. The ruin advertises free access around the middle of the day, however it was closed at 1pm, but looked abandoned. A kiosk desk was unmanned and full of webs. The ruin itself is gated off and padlocked.
Despite plentiful advertising and directions throughout Skala to the ruin it is effectively abandoned and left to ruin for a second time. A shame for tourists who may also find that Skalas other archaeological site, the Roman Temple, is simply too far out of town down the beach...

Sign said open at 8.30 but at 9am there was no sign of anyone so I had to go back later. Right in Skala so worth a quick trip. It's closed on Wednesday and shuts around 3.30....
