We took a taxi from lassi to the llighthouse, and the ride cost €10 – totally worth it! The lighthouse itself and the whole area around it are absolutely beautiful. We had seen in a video that it was once badly covered in graffiti, but luckily it has since been repainted, and now it looks just as beautiful as it used to. There’s also a tiny beach nearby – if someone wants to, they can even go for a swim, although it’s quite a windy area. Relatively close by, there’s also a windmill. It’s a nice spot to relax and take lots of great pictures.

Me and my wife walked from Lassi Hotel where we are staying to the Lighthouse of Saint Theodoro andi from there we walked all the way into Argostolli. The walk took us just over an hour to do. It was really enjoyable from start to finish. Lots of lovely views of the sea and mountains in the distance. We passed several small secluded pebbly beaches. Some people were enjoying swimming in the water and cooling off from the heat of the sun. We didn't have our swimming stuff with us or we might have joined them.

The location is pretty but the landmark felt very unattended when we visited. There was lots of graffiti and writing on the lighthouse, and not in the beautiful street art way. It would be nice if the place was kept a bit cleaner. The walk from Lassi to Argostoli (or the other way around) is definetely worth doing and this is one of the attractions along the way. Be mindfull that a large part of the road does not have a designated space for pedestrians, so always be watchfull for cars.

We drove some 30 km to see the lighthouse. Really not worth it. Covered in graffiti. Obviously a memorial to some people. Shipwrecked or soldiers of some war. But no one seems to care anymore. A coat of paint wouldn’t break the local economy and the experience would be all the better for it. We then tried to snorkel off the nearby beaches. Not an experience I would recommend. Loads of plastic and rubbish in the sea devoid of any living creatures on the day we went in, when we left the sea there was a certain smell of sewage coming from it. The whole experience I would...

The Saint Theodore Lighthouse, also known as Fanari Lighthouse, is a great place for peaceful and romantic sunsets. It is easily reachable by a car or taxi and also within a walking distance from Argostoli. It was built in 1828 by the British, destroyed in 1953 by the earthquake and then rebuilt in 1960 by the local architect according to its original architectural design. Sadly, today it is a bit desecrated by the graffiti. I would not say that it is a "must see" place on the island, but still I would visit it every time I am on holiday...
