It takes a lot of "bad" to get a 1-star review from me. Forget the 15-20 EURO price for the beach chair and umbrella rental, it went up to 25 EUROS, and what a complete rip-off! The beach is nothing special for Crete beaches, attitude and service from some of the staff is terrible (other staff is ok). Take a look at the menu prices for generic food and beer items, complete rip-off! Beach sand and water quality, nothing special.

The thing with a lot of these Greek tourist operations is that they don't understand that more and more people are using Google reviews to determine if they will go to a venue or not and the owner(s) here simply do not care, and that will be to their disadvantage in the future because they think they can take advantage of tourists but technology is giving tourists more and more power of choice! :) I recommend you choose to completely avoid this place.

This beach is simply not worth your time, there are much better beaches to...

I really liked this beach. If you come early in the morning, there are hardly any people. Its a mostly sandy beach with some rocky areas, and an imposing, mostly barren mountain adjacent to it. Makes for great photos. There is a calm, shallow area ideal for kids, and some rocks for those who like to snorkel as small fish sometimes take refuge near the rocks. If you are looking for a beach with a lot of waves, big waves, or a lot of water sports, well this is not it. You can buy overpriced food and drinks of mediocre quality at the beach. There are also bathrooms if you need them. If you would like an umbrella and 2 chairs, it will cost you 20 Euro, which is criminal. Overall it's a nice beach close to Chania. Its less busy than the beach that is near the old Venetian harbor. Best to rent a car to explore the island and to get here. FYI, this is the place where the classic movie Zorba the...

Lovely family beach!

We visited Stavros Beach on a fairly windy day, the natural harbour and protection from the mountain make this beach perfect to hide from the wind. The beach has chairs organized by the restaurant across the street from the beach. €25 gets you an umbrella and two loungers. Initially we thought a bit pricey as other beaches you can pay under €10. But, what Stavros beach does well is drinks/food service to the beach. Which with having a small child was great.

One of the cleanest beaches/ sand / water we had on our trip to Crete.

Great for families as there aren’t many waves. Couple of rocks on entry into the water, but not enough that you would need to wear shoes.

We loved it, and kept comparing Stavros beach...
