What could one possibly say for the place with the one & by far best view of Chania? 5 out of 5 stars for every possible reason. Location, historical significance (One of the greatest Prime Ministers of Greece that ever lived - Eleftherios Venizelos rests there), overall cleanliness, sunset, accessibility (wheelchairs included), lots of cats to pet(!), 2 of the best cafeterias just a few feet away, and the list continues. A huge shout out also to the local church's "Profitis Ilias" priest Mr. Mpitzanakes Emmanouel who transformed the entirety of the place years ago from a near dumpster state to its today's glory and still continues to do so to this very day. An absolute must, whether its your 1st time in the city...

Great place to visit for photo opportunities and a meal.

You can get here by bus, or you can drive - though I believe parking is quite limited. I chose to walk from Chania, which took me around 1hr 15mins. It probably wasn’t the wisest idea I’ve ever had as it was 30 degrees and the majority of it is uphill, but I got there in the end! I was rewarded with fab views of the coastline, a beautiful Venetian chapel, and an abundance of cats.

There are public toilets adjacent to the chapel, and although they are clean there is no toilet paper or soap. Luckily I always carry tissue and hand sanitiser.

There are a couple of cafes next to the park.

Thankfully the walk back down was much...

Stunning spot overlooking Chania. It is the burial place of two Cretans father and son who were prime ministers of Greece. There is also a nice monument to a Greek war hero. In the centre there is a small church, which happened to be having a wedding, you couldn't find a more picturesque spot. It's not really a cemetery more a park and remembrance garden. Stunning though and because the area is the full of trees the cicadas really make a noise. Great sunsets from here. Difficult to get to taxi is the only way really.

Excellent views and lovely little orthodox church. There are a couple of lovely restaurants and cafés only trouble is how to get there without a car. We took bus 18 from the local bus square and then decided to walk back to the city since it was not clear when the other bus would return to the city. It is worth it but a bit hard but we managed to get to another lovely beach just before reaching Koum Kapi.
