This is an amazing “off the beaten path” restaurant away from the tourist areas. Excellent excellent food. Casual and clean atmosphere. Supposedly has great views over the coast but I can’t attest to it as I went after it was dark.
Grilled squid 10/10 - Garlic, onion, parsley, olive oil. Great seasoning. Perfectly done.
Steamed Mussels 10/10 - One of the best mussel dishes I’ve ever had. Very fresh mussels. Garlic, onion, parsley, chive broth. Delicious.
Grilled cuttlefish 8/10 - Similar to the preparation of the grilled squid. Came out slightly cool. Flavors great.
Grilled shrimp 7/10 - Nice large tiger shrimp. Very nice grilled and citrus flavoring. Shrimp themselves could have been more bouncy in texture. Unclear if this is due to freshness or if it is due to the type of shrimp.
Tomato fritters 7/10 - Very nice. Balance of the fritter could have used more seasoning and more tomatoes to the amount of batter used.
Very nice house dessert and raki at the end. Pleasant service. Great atmosphere. Prices are very fair for the quality of seafood you get.
Overall gets 5/5 recommendation. If you are looking for great food away from the tourist traps you should not miss...
Read moreBravo to the kitchen staff, the food was excellent. The service on the other hand was horrible. Lazy “head” waiter or whatever he was made us wait almost an hour to take our order. We were brought bread and water about 20 minutes in. The least you can do is take a drink order while bringing the bread. No one talked to us for the first hour. I’ve worked in restaurants, the place wasn’t that busy for the staff he had to utilize. The system they have for service is horrible. The “head” guy blamed the kitchen for being slow but it seemed like the kitchen was busting out orders and he was the slow one. The one inattentive guy takes all the orders and everyone else brings things. Everyone there was trying to get his or anyone’s attention constantly. But if you want something, the “guy” has to come talk to you. Maybe it’s the owners fault for setting up this moronic system. Could be a great place if...
Read moreWe spotted this place by accident while viewing the sunset from Koukouvaya cafe. There was a small place with lights we saw down below and i checked it on maps to see what's what. After we saw the nice reviews we said we definitely have to try it. The location is very quiet, so it's a hidden gem. Just above the sea shore, it's beautifully designed and very simple, the greek style. Menu it's just as it should be not too many dishes, not too few. I had the Orzo with shrimp, which, congrats to the chef. Never ate it someplace else. My girl had the fried fresh shrimps with fried potatoes and it was delicious. The fried potatoes especially are made with the peel on it and very crunchy. at the end of course the greek tradition, desert and raki, and the cake was faboulous....
