Temple of Athena Sounias — Attraction in Municipality of Lavreotiki

In my primary school, I learned about this place, and historical facts that describe it. But back then, in school, learning history was boring, so I overheard almost everything teacher told us at the class. And naturally, I forgot all of it. And then, almost 40 years after, I visited Temple of Poseidon, and I was amazed. Especially with the view, and calming feel that this place provides. 2 hour bus drive from Athens, near the coast...

Organised coach trip from Athens. Had to wait too long for sunset as we arrived too early. Poseidons temple can be seen in half an hour. Guide was good . Nothing else to do at site. Waited one and half hours for sunset. Would have been better starting trip later than 4.30pm, linking the start/finish time to the sunset time. ...

It is hard to believe that this was intentionally destroyed and then neglected for all of these years. A very important site to see- especially for those who love Wisdom. Hail Athena Virgin Goddess of Knowledge...
