The way they preserved the Tower of Kazarma - although it was destroyed twice in its lifetime is really remarkable. Get up there if you are into the middle ages and their architecture. Also if you are into high peeks that you can enjoy the city view from above. I'm sure you will love it in both cases! Enjoy! The lady at the ticket desk is very nice and welcoming. I almost felt like home! 2 euro entrance fee and open until 15:00 hours!

This is a very old fortress, it is abandoned, but it is still used for concerts and as a theater. It is mostly used in the summer, since it's in open space. Any tourist should go see it. It can be seen from anywhere in Sitia, so it's easy to find. Most of the time to enter you need to pay, but sometimes that isn't the case. The concerts are always hold at nighttime or in the evening.

De view is very pretty and worth the climb up the hills. The actual fortress has very little to show. But a very interesting history. We had to google that history, it would be great if there would have been something to read handed out, or attached to different areas in the fortress. If you are in Sitia, do go have a look. That view make it al worth it!

We took a drive to Sitia, we had a quick look outside the Fortress as it was closed (plus the reviews) but weren't that impressed and would have been better off staying further up the coast. For someone not that interested it wasn't worth it but if you particularly like small fortresses I'm sure it's lovely and wouldn't want to put you off

The fortress is laying bare (there is nothing inside except a few basic panels narrating the history of the place) but the walls are well preserved and the interior is pretty to look at thanks to some trees and flowers. The view from the keep is also quite beautiful.

Venetian fortress in Sitia very well preserved. Only little information provided but still worth a visit. Try to avoid (after-)noon sun, little to no shade. No restrooms or any facilities. Parking situation is at least interesting.
