Superb black sand beach in Santorini. This is a beach like all beaches should be- it is quite long ( some 4-5 km from one end to the other ), it alternates public areas with areas which have sunbeds ( either you pay for the sunbed or you just consume of a certain amount from the beach bar which serves that particular area of beach ). We were there begining of August ( highest season for Santorini ) and there was absolutely no sensation of crowdiness. You had plenty of room on the beach whereever you decided to stop. Also there was a very nice setup with friendly service beach bars and different water activities/sports. Since it is a black sand beach, the sand is quite hot. Also, as Santorini is a volcanic island the water deepend relatively fast. However the water is really crystal clear and you can snorkel for fish even within 10 m from shore or closer. Also the beach is awarded a blue flag and this really shows when it comes to cleanliness. Allinall a perfect way to relax before visiting the madnificent towns on Santorini’s Caldera: Thira,...
Read moreAbsolutely lovely beach. Perivolo is definitely underrated and I'm sorry I haven't visited in the first part of my trip as I would have definitely returned. The entire beach is lined up with taverns and has parking places at each tavern. The prices differ for the sun lounges, depending on the proximity to the sea (10-35 EUR). Most places also have fresh water showers which are very convenient. The beach is clean, with gorgeous black sand (watch-out, it gets super hot and very unpleasant to step on barefooted from midday onwards), clear water and plenty of space. Did not feel crowded at all, despite being full. Depth at shore can be quite deep in places. The only downside I found was that each taverna had music on (not too loud)....
Read moreThis is such a different experience this beach has black sand, make sure to grab some pumice stone it's said to bring good luck. I brought home 2 small rocks. The beach does not have alot open in early April this is due to when Greece Easter falls though so if it's after most things should be open but if it's later like this year your food and stores will be limited. Beware the prices are insane here with exception of some gift stores. But for 2 kabobs aka Soulvaki at a restaurant it was €16. I soon learned that was crazy. If you have never seen a black sand beach I highly reccomend this. If this review helped you at all please mark as helpful and follow me for more reviews...
