Very nice beach. Crowded during the tourist season but not too crowded to enjoy some time with friends or a partner. You can reach the beach by taking the public bus from Fira to Perissa, but get off at the Perivolos stop (about a 35 minute ride). It seems like most of the restaurants on the shore have free chairs and umbrellas for customers. We got gyro plates at DoDos for about 15€ each and got complimentary chairs. As others have said, the sand is HOT. Would wear shoes up until you get into the water. I noticed a lot of paint chips from umbrellas in the water which was a bit disappointing. Otherwise...

Sandy long beach, unlike most beaches at the rest of the island that are full of pebbles and stones.

Quite family friendly since most children enjoy these types of beaches. The sea water is also quite good for swimming.

Most restaurants/bars offer free umbrella & sunbeds if you order something. This is very good, unlike many other beaches where you pay 10-15€ just for the sunbeds & umbrella.
