I was surprised the mayor us taking action to keep the city clean. I saw cleaning crews every morning cleaning the Streets I just wished the citizens would "put the trash in the containers" provided rather than throwing the trash on the streets. The sanitation department can only do so much. Walking down the "Peatonal" (about a quarter mile stretch of stores you will find a wide assortment of things for sale (I think they only allow them on the weekends) and stores, banks, coffee shops, retails, museums, churches and other historical sites as well as attorneys, hardware stores and many other things. This is a popular place for people to come and purchase stuff because it's cheaper than the malls and you can score good bargains. You can also attend mass, eat at the local food market (in front of the Dolores Church) take buses and taxis to different places, Etc. Central Park is one of the oldest in Tegucigalpa with many things to see. If you come to Tegucigalpa you must come here! (Don't come too late at night as there is no officers at night and I could be a scary place to be at night)
