Adventure Caving Bt. — Attraction in Budapest

We did this cave tour with Melinda as our guide. Phenomenal adventure. Would do it again tomorrow if we could.

That said… there’s a few nice-to-knows. It’s a very physical activity, really only appropriate for fairly fit people. If you’re claustrophobic, don’t go; you spend the majority of the time sliding, scooting, or belly crawling through narrow tunnels. Bring gloves if you can - even hardware store cheapo latex and mesh ones. Someone in our group got stuck, literally stuck (it’s possible it may have been my husband who wears a 34” waist pant). Had to be pushed from one side and pulled from the other to get unwedged. There was an alternative route around this squeeze, so if it feels too tight, tell your guide before you keep trying to squash yourself through. FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The adventure caving experience under Budapest was an absolute blast from start to finish! But, besides the rocks, what made this subterranean escapade unforgettable was our guide, Szilard. He was hilarious, experienced, and knowledgeable, taking us on a wild ride through the mysterious depths below.

The adventure itself was mind-blowing. We crawled, climbed, and wriggled our way through the cave. Szilard seemed to know everyone's skill level and was able to adapt the route to suit everyone's preferences. He was enthusiastic about showing some of the trickiest paths while also guiding others through the easiest routes.

Amazing tour. I was in the Budapest caves before on a walking tour, but there is no comparison! This one is a definite must for everyone interested in caves and trying out something a bit less sanitised than other popular caves. You get to crawl quite a bit on this tour, squeeze in a few places. Not that challenging physically, but be sure that you're not claustrophobic! for everyone's sake.
