The room we got was in a pretty good condition, with clean sheets, the furniture was also not bad and there were also not bad (or 'strange') smells that could be noticed. ||The bathroom was in excellent condition (the best equipped part of our apartment, I would say), but we got USED dish-washing sponges in the kitchen part of the room, with traces of grease on them! I mean, how expensive could these be, to change them regularly before new guests arrive?||Based on the other reviews, I guess that not all the rooms are done in the same quality, so it could be a lottery to get one in a proper condition. Breakfast is not included in the price, but there is a stove in the room, so you may prepare food by yourself. ||There is a free Wi-Fi and we managed to have a pretty good signal (so I guess the strength of the signal is also a matter of chance, depending on how close your room to a hot-spot is).||Each room has a balcony as well, but if you like some privacy (like eating breakfast on balcony without being watched at) you almost will not have it, because right in front of the hotel there is a huge office building, facing it. Besides, each balcony is separated from the neighbouring ones with concrete bulkheads, which are also not completely attached to the walls, i.e. you may see parts of neighbouring balconies through them, and see very well other guests sitting on neighbouring balconies!||In the hotel prospect it was written 'free hair-dryer on request', but we didn't get any, even after asking the staff for one. ||The staff was friendly, in general, and eager to help, but most of them (i.e. all except one man) speak poor English. ||There is a private guarded parking behind the hotel, but for extra €6 per day. There are also parking places in front of the hotel, but you will have to pay daily tickets, unless you stay on Saturday's and Sunday's only, when parking is for free in whole Budapest (2017). ||Using air conditioner is also charged for extra €5 per day - you have to announce that at the reception, in which case they will give you remote control to operate it. From that moment, you'll be charged extra €5 per each day of your stay, until you return the control back to the staff (I guess - we haven't used it).||||Pros: Location (center of Pest reachable by foot within minutes), value for the price - though now I think the price was also a bit overrated (€49) for what we got...||Cons: Literary no privacy (if you like to have some on balcony), paying CASH ONLY (which was nowhere announced!), paying extra for hotel parking and air-conditioner; besides - if you don't like walking, or are unable to walk a lot, or come with small children (strollers & co.) you will have to use metro/public transportation anyway, in which case you may also find accommodation further from the Center away, but with much better price/value ratio.||Lottery: Quality of apartments,...
Read moreThis hotel is easy to reach by metro (Blue line), you have to get off from Lehe station, then go out to find "VIctor Hugo" road (Utca means road???). When you see the "victor hugo" road, then walk along the street and look for building "25-27", it is number of hotel, there is no hotel name, just notice the number of the building. The map is easy, you can try to see from google map. ||||I write "but" in the beginning because i my room and my friend's room is very much different in quality. If i rate only my room, it will be 6/10, but if i rate my friend's room it will be 10/10.||||The hotel was renovated from the old building. It's convenient for budget traveler from the price (i got 38 Euro for twin bedroom). There are microwave, pots, mugs, cups, sink, everything. From the main road, there is grocery, exchange and 100-200 metre after there is a mall "Cinema City" which has shops, restaurant, food center. ||||If you get a room from with balcony (street side), i guess you will be lucky, like my friend get; i.e AC is working well, wifi is very strong, kitchen stuff are new and modern (even toaster is available!). But i got the room in another side, i will explain what i see;||||1) Light at corridor is not working well (sensor)||2) wifi is not working AT ALL, but when i just cross to my friend room, it works.||3) Kitchen stuff is very old (i will not complain if i don't see another room's stuff)||4) Bath curtain is old||5) mattress, pillow, blanket are poorer than my friend's room||6) AC is not free, it is 5 Euro per night you have to pay at reception to get AC remote. I paid, yet, 1st night AC is not working mean i paid for free 5 Euro. Regarding AC remote, when my friend (who gets a better room) goes to get remote from reception, he is not charged (why ??). It's just 5-10 minutes after i went there, and the staff is same person.||||In conclusion, everything in my friend's room is better which i can rate 10/10 if i stayed in the balcony side building. But for my...
Read moreIt's true that we did not pay a fortune for this accommodation, but to be honest, as soon as we stepped into the Hotel we were a bit shocked. Shocked for the fact that the reception area and common parts were not quite clean and looked so retro and in need of a total refurbishment, it seemed to us that we had travelled back to the 1970's! The receptionist / owner was very nice and welcoming and soon gave us the key to our room which was on the top floor. As soon as we entered the room, which was very clean and tidy, we were engulfed by the heat, so I went down to the reception to ask for air conditioning but I was told that this would cost an additional €5 per night! Noticing the hesitation and big ? floating over my head she immediately offered us an alternative room, this time on the ground floor which was a bit cooler but shabbier than the previous one, like for example the wardrobe looked like the leaning tower of Pisa, two wall power sockets were dislodged with visible hence dangerous electrical cables, there was a TV cable physically passing from the middle of the room floor with the danger of one tripping over it, the dislodged curtain rail and also a dislodged toilet seat which makes one also look like the leaning tower of Pisa when nature calls! Albeit being shabby, the room was quite clean but still felt a bit warm for comfort, but at least when I rightly so complained once again about the heat, we were offered air conditioning for free! Some positive notes about this Hotel are the convenient and secure private parking, the very central location, the price, the staff, the coffee machine in the 24 hour reception area, the cleanliness of the room and the safe deposit box in the room. All in all this Hotel is good for the budget conscious traveller who plans to spend a lot of time discovering the beautiful city...
