Hámori Lake — Attraction in Miskolci járás

I searched for cool lakes in Hungary, and I thought I stumbled on one. To be honest, I had more expectations from the place, so I was slightly disappointed when I arrived in a mild fall-winter day. The reason wasn't the season, but the lake: it's very small. I was expecting it to be bigger, based on the google photos. You can literally walk around it in most an hour. Also, one side of the lake is paved road, without walkways for pedestrians, so that makes the most-one-hour walk half as fun. Regardless, the lake can still be beautiful, and the the surrounding town has a real cute vibe to it, with sightseeing opportunities and a few smaller waterfalls to compensate...

A Hámori-tó hazánk egyik legszebb tava, Lillafüred egyik legnépszerűbb látnivalója. A kb. 9 méter mély tó a kiràndulók szàmàra egy tökéletes csónakázóhely és horgászparadicsom, míg télen akár korcsolyázni is tudunk rajta. Természetesen keletkezett, de mesterségesen megnagyobbított tó ma a Bükk egyik legromantikusabb látnivalója, amit a partján álló Palotaszálló és a tavat körbeölelő hegyek látványa koronáz meg.A tó és a palotaszàlló Lillafüred szimbóluma. Egy csodàllatos romantikus sétány húzódik a déli oldalon amely sziklàk között kanyarog. A tavat nem lehet körbesétàlni, A sétàny csak az wgyik oldalon van kiépítve , ugyanitt kell visszajönni. A kihelyezett padokon megpihenhetünk és töltődhetünk a làtvànnyal. A 1,5 kilométer hosszú tavat 14 állandó és 11 időszaki forrás táplálja, az ösvényről rövid sétával egyikük, az Eszperantó-forrás is elérhető. Lake Hámori is one of the most beautiful lakes in Hungary and one of the most popular attractions in Lillafüred. The approximately 9-meter-deep lake is a perfect boating and fishing paradise for hikers, while in winter we can even skate on it. Naturally formed, but artificially enlarged, the lake is today one of the most romantic attractions in the Bükk, crowned by the view of the Palace Hotel on its shore and the mountains surrounding the lake. The lake and the palace hotel are the symbol of Lillafüred. A wonderful romantic promenade stretches along the southern side, which winds between rocks. You cannot walk around the lake. The promenade is only built on the west side, you have to come back here. You can rest on the benches and enjoy the view. The 1.5-kilometer-long lake is fed by 14 permanent and 11 seasonal springs, one of which, the Esperanto Spring, is reachable by a short walk...

Hámori Lake is truly beautiful and peaceful—perfect for a quick visit or a lakeside walk. However, the lack of maintenance in the area is quite noticeable. While the immediate area near the lake is still in decent condition, the surrounding trails are in poor shape—overgrown and in places barely passable. A bit more care would make this spot...
